The D&D threads have been more entertaining than the ones in the hangout as of late.

    WOW

With the exception of a few select posters you people are out of your freaking minds.....well if anything you have convinced me that liberalism really is a mental disorder.

    from www.dictionary.com
    socialism ~ Pronunciation [soh-shuh-liz-uhm]–noun
(in Marxist theory) the stage following capitalism in the transition of a society to communism, characterized by the imperfect implementation of collectivist principles.

I must say that some of your response are quite hilarious. I ask a simple question making no reference to any person, place or thing and its laughable to read some of the replies....

And for the record I was not for the bailout at all. As a matter of a fact I wrote my congressmen and senators insisting that they did not back the bailout and will express my discontent with them at the ballot box....anyone of you take time to write your congressmen and senators?

And one more thing.....the whole financial system collapse is based on a number of things. Two of which have significant importance and are tied to democratic Presidents. The "community reinvestment act" passed by Jimmy Carter and the "commodities future modernization act" passed by Bill Clinton; which by the way was a stupid bill and probably did more to bring us to this point then anything else.

So after having said all of that........I don't think I have seen one of you actually answer my simple question?

I did the best I could with such a slanted question. According to your definition of socialism Obama has yet to propose anything that meets that definition.

In return (although I'm not a liberal), I have a serious question for OddsOn:

    Why do you hate America?

Repost just to make sure you have ample opportunity to actually answer my simple question.

I am a full-fledged rght winger would favor abolishing the current tax code for a consumer or flat tax: however, there are two reasons for the leftward shift in American political opinion.

First, the hypocrisy of the GOP has utterly blown up in their face. They blew up the deficit in the last eight years with untold amounts of spending. Because the left dislikes cutting taxes in general, the tax cuts are normally blamed for the current debt and deficit. The truth is tax receipts to the government actually went up due in large part to the tax cuts. Unfortunately, while the GOP was in power, they spent like drunken Democrats. Our foreign policy is gutless. What right does the Iraqi government have to be running a surplus when the security we provide them is paid for with deficit spending on our part. It is really hard to win an argument supporting the GOP with this sort of blatant hypocrisy. That is why you will not be seeing signs in my yard or on my bumper supporting any GOP campaigns during this election.

Second, corporate managements refusal to reward the average employee with the large profits they have enjoyed in the 20-30 years has helped to develop the class warfare that my friends complain about. I don't have statistics to back this up, but the difference in the growth in income between corporate management and average employees is staggering. It is no wonder that public opinion has taken the turn it has. Theses corporate types are feeding the frenzy.

Again, I think the liberal solutions to these problems are foolish and help no one, but as a conservative, where can I go? My party has betrayed me. Short-sided corporate greed is and has severely damaged the free enterprise system.

You asked a dumb arse question, and you deserve a dumb arse reply.

I mean what kind of question is "
When NO ONE has professed such love or even spoken like they embrace it.

You take a massive idiotic leap of faith, and expect an honest reply?

I mean...it is like me asking you? "Have you stopped beating your wife yet?"

It is the same type of question......

    Idiotic.

You were not being serious, you were being obtuse.

Usually you are better than this...I am dissappointed in you.

I may disagree with you about about the solutions but I admire your willingness to not play team politics regarding some of the causes.

Good question. Why work hard when they're just going to tax you more and give it to other people?

I echo FB's comments and would add that the other really negative consequence of the growing discrepancy in pay to management and employees is an ever increasing concentration of wealth which is very bad for any society.

You shouldn't. If Obama's elected you should stop trying to increase your earnings. It makes no logical sense. Any additional money you earn WILL be confiscated and handed out to poor, dark people.

You ask stupid questions, you get stupid answers.

If your question was not facetious, wow, than I really don't know what to tell you. BTW, what's w/ your love of individualistic anarchism?

I assume that you went to some public schools which are subsidized and paid for by other people's taxes. If so, you should be ashamed of your hypocrisy in taking parts in this form of government handout. What is worse is not even having any gratitude for the help that other people gave your education through their taxes.

Just take, take and then be resentful when it is your turn to contribute. This is not the American way.

I would agree. Normally, this forces governments to take action that it is not qualified to take, such as managing the economy via higher taxes, more beauracracies, and more regulations. I believe these "solutions" will cripple our economy. When the government reduces capital through raising taxes, it reduces economic activity. More beauracracy and regulation increases barriers to entry for new industries to be created: however, if business refuses to govern itself, it is perfectly reasonable to expect the citizenry to elect officials who will impose the restraint that business leaders have refused show.

Personally, I think the answer to our economic problems would be better served through the criminal justice system, not by handicapping the rest of society with more rules. Just judiciosly enforce current ones.
