I don't know what the hell you're talking about - hell I'm not even sure if you're responding to the right thread, but damn if I'm not laughing my ass off.
Oh, and Texas summers pretty much suck unless you're wearing shorts somewhere on a beach not worried about sweating like Moses Malone or you're inside in some AC. It's times like July and August in Dallas or Houston that I wish I were in San Diego... But falls in the South ain't too bad at all!
You people are lucky bastards for having summer all season long. You people need a taste of the Winter.
screw that, I hear from our boy up north(in Chicago) about how it is working outside in the winter up there. NO THANKS. Ill put up with a few months of 90ish highs for the pleasure of NOT dealing with temps close to zero or worse yet....BELOW ZERO. and....skimpy clothing + Hawt Texas Women FTW.
I'll say this. I was working in Minnesota back in August about a decade ago. One day their temps reached into the mid-90's. And they had NOTHING to compensate it. Seriously, there wasn't an air conditioner in a very nice high rise furnished apartment we were staying in. There was literally no relief. Y'all can hate all you want, but I can't even imagine how my parents lived back in the 50's in Houston with no A/C.
What's with the Astros hatred!? They've only lost 8 of their last 9 games! That means they've actually won 1! *Note: I had to go back 9 games to get 1 win, if I went back 7 games, no win. No, you're right, the summer offers some pretty dismal things, hurricanes, the Astros (who I support and try to watch, btw, unless skip messes up another lineup card...) As for the electric bills, the "turn it up to 77 when not at home" thing is working out pretty well and our new house is decently efficient, we're at about $200 so far with the electric bill (and we're not on one of those weird plans). Hopefully it stays there! I can't wait for September/October but will find something good to like about this summer...
