I hate the high electric and water bills, plus I had to lock into a higher rate plan this year for power... I do love sand volleyball and motocross in the summer though..
No joke. We've had memorial days before where it was 100 degrees. This past weeknd and the past few months have been awesome as far as houston weather goes.
Houstonians seem to forget that it's like the last few months about six months a year. We get about four months of terrible heat, two months of "cold" weather, and the rest is pretty great. Not many cities have a ratio that nice.
I've been here a couple years now and I think the coldest High temperature during a single day so far has been like 42 degrees.
I'm with you ima, Summer is my least favorite season. Except for the hurricanes, all the items you listed are reasons I hate this season. I'll also add biting/stinging bugs, the fact that you can walk outside for 5 seconds and be drenched with sweat, sunburns, etc. The only plus is the skimpy outfits like others have mentioned. I was going to add grilling but I do that in the winter time too.
...oooh NOEZ, global cooling... Before the altered climate burns us all into a crisp or cools, summer time is sweet. I'm not a cold weather person at all
my boss and i were just talking about this earlier today.... this has been some of the mildest past couple of years we can remember. i really wouldn't trade the whether we've been having for practically anywhere the way it's been going.
The bolded part is the reason I started the thread. I agree the last few months have been beautiful, but it's not even June yet. The dog days are coming.
I would gladly take 4 months of terrible heat and 8 months of mild weather than most of the alternatives. Just as long as I don't start freezing my ass, I can manage.
I agree that we've had really beautiful weather lately and I am SO looking forward to summer. I need to go shopping!
people that don't like Texas heat have had an easy solution since the early 50's. Interstate 45 North. Peace out Pansies.
