Now he did say that the law is within 5000 feet, that's less than a mile, and I didn't know that. Now I wonder if his neighbors knew that. He said they do this every year but he didn't mention anything about trying to reason with these rednecks in the past so maybe he is the redneck that can't be reasoned with because the first thing he seemed to do was call the police and hope for that 2000 dollar fine. He probably didn't know what the law was until that night.

You seem to be assuming a lot. The only person who knows what happened that night is him.

Frankly, it's the inconsiderate nature of the incident that annoys me the most. Not the legal aspect.
