He's an emotional, fiery player that any one of you haters would kill to have on this team. The one thing that nobody can take away from him is his loyalty to a franchise that did nothing to help him win. He might talk trash to other players (which is harmless, unlike dirty players who are complete nice guys), but he is nothing but classy to the fans. He is by far my favorite player in the NBA not wearing a Rockets jersey.
Hopefully I'm not pressed to prove this with some picture, but I met KG a few years back with Loren Woods at SF birthday party and he was the most plesant athlete I had ever been around. Other than Andre Ware.
If it was Yao trash talking we would all be cheering. I don't hate him at all. His "rah rah," stuff is fine. It's a little annoying, but whatever. It's more annoying when crappy players or semi-scrubs (See: Sczerbiak, Wally) do it. His game is really smooth, but he's never come up big in the post-season. We'll see this year.
i ran into KG at a gamestop in thousand oaks last year. he was actually kind of quiet and shy, very humble. REALLY nice. he was there looking at video games and i was like "that guy is so tall he must be a basketball player." then he turned around and i was like, "no **** its KG!!!!"
i don't hate him....no reason to really.............it's just a little trash talk between players, but lol at Jefferson's response...haha..........
I agree on Nash vs. Dream and other players on that level. As for Nash vs. Garnett, i'm pretty sure Nash has been out of the first round about five more times than KG, off of the top of my head. Again, given the flawless and god-like media perception of KG you would never ever think that.
This thread should be more about Al Jefferson's comeback! That's quick-witted for ya! Speaking of Al Jefferson, that's a youngster I'd LOVE to have on the Rockets.
Haha....Actually, I would have gone a different route. It's too easy to pick on his lack of post season success. I would have been like, "Oh wow, 11 All-Star selections. Wow. Incredible. You know how to win a popularity contest. I hope whenever i'm 13 years into the league i'll have made it out of the first round once too. Have fun in New Orleans."
The quote I was referring to was: "i'll complement yao on his good-natured-ness when he wins something" So you're right. KG has advanced past the first round....once....in the thirteen seasons.....however, he most certainly hasn't won anything.
this just in...basketball is a team sport! KG is an amazing player and one of the best you will see in your life time. stop hating and enjoy a guy who was loyal to a fault (staying in minny so long) and gave 100% no matter what crap that franchise put around him.
Exactly. If we somehow got Garnett, every member of this site (well except for Memphis X and Nuggets4 and the female members like HayesFan, finalsbound, and Isabel, et. al) would cream in their pants. Quit hatin'
My only memories of Kevin Garnett in the playoffs is Dirk making him his b*tch when those two teams met up in the playoffs. Dirk averages for the entire series were like 30 and 15 and the mavs swept the Timberwolves. KG is the most overated athlete in all of pro sports.
Love his intensity and style but didn't like he simply would not shake hands with former teammates. That's and the way he showed his jersey is showing a lack of respect, like you're all that now that you're with the Celtics. I could be wrong though about the last one because i don't know KG that well.
