Friday night, at about 5:00 in the morning, my sisters dogs were going crazy barking. I got up to tell them to shut the hell up, but as I was about to going through the living room, my front doorbell rang. I immediately checked, thinking it was a prank, but it was a neighbor telling me that he chased some punks that were breaking into cars into my backyard. I told him to watch the fence, I got my Glock, and I went outside to secure the backyard. In the few seconds that it took to get my gun, the thieves apparently jumped the fence and escaped.

I had always wondered if I would hesitate to draw my gun if the situation ever arose.

I guess I now have my answer.

Scary. You should have fired a round into the ground to send a message to those punks.

Someone illegally in my 6" locked fenced yard is a threat. Now, I was not going to shoot to say I did it, but I was planning on detaining them if possible.

No...if somebody is trespassing on your property at night to do mischief...you have the right to shoot them.

There was a Scottish man several years ago that was lost and was banging (not knocking...but BANGING) on a guy's front door at 3am. The guy shot him to death. He was no billed.

I will only kill someone if they are threatening the safety of my family. If they break into my car, I'll let the cops and and insurance take care of it.

No matierial possession is worth killing over especially if it means possibly endangering myself. I couldn't imagine killing some neighbor kid over my car stereo.

Why are you such a jackass? I mean honestly...do you ever read what you post? Why don't you go laugh at another baby in a dryer.

For f*cks sake, what a tool.

Anyone can pull out a gun. The real question is would you pull the trigger if it came down to it?

I don't think those guys would stay in your backyard for long if they were running away. That's pretty scary. I would probably have my gun close and handy just in case of another possible danger, unless I have kids around.
