I'm sorry (actually I'm not) but f**k the ballot box. Who are you going to vote for that is actually going to address these type of issues, corporate puppet #1 or #2?

The ballot box does not create social change, direct action, riots, and dissent spilling into violence and turmoil on the streets does. Typically when that stuff starts happening one of the parties will co-opt that movement into legislation to sap their energy and stave off an outright revolution, but the ballot box, by itself, gives no hope or change.

I just hope the next movement that actually creates the desire for change within the ruling political and corporate class (read, creates the fear amongst the ruling class), that such a movement is able to stop itself from being co-opted.

This deserves an indictment. Darren Wilson did not.

I still think given the multiple causes of death cited by the medical examiner along with the language of the laws on the books that it would be almost impossible to get anything besides 2nd degree manslaughter charges even brought against the one cop and given that it's pretty hard to call his actions completely unjustifiable and reckless according to the legal definition of the term reckless, it would have been a quick trial and acquittal making it nothing but a waste of money to proceed with charges that don't have a chance of sticking.

And people like you act like America is #1, but the only thing we are #1 in is military budget. Not freedom index, or literacy, or education or healthcare, or per capita gdp, or standard of living or infant mortality or ...anything really. Just military budget. Yet people like you tell anyone who criticizes this country to get out. F that, why should we? Why don't the people that are fat and happy with the status quo get out of the way so things can improve?

Why hasn't Cliven Bundy been arrested, or any of his armed supporters/protesters, who were pointing guns at law enforcement officers? Wasn't there enough resistance/provocation their to justify a few killings?

Intent doesn't mean crap when it comes to whether or not you indict, Bobbert.

It depends on what crime you were considering going after though, some crimes there has to be intent. However Man 2 isn't one of those and I think that's what they could have tried.

"OPEN SEASON ON BLACK MEN"... Where in da flip have you been...??? It's always been like this. It's nothing new. Black Men can't even buy a toy gun from Wal-Mart without getting murdered in this country.

An accident? The chokehold is not in the NYC-PD's allowed bag of tricks any longer, because it can kill people. Guess what - it killed someone.

Yes, an accident. The intent wasn't to kill the guy which makes his death an accident, if the intent was to kill the guy, they could have just shot him. The reason they banned the use of chokeholds is because accidents can happen...one did.

Also, let's be clear, it wasn't the chokehold that killed him, he died as a result of a combination of things. The chokehold was only one factor. The guy being morbidly obese, the guy having asthma, and the cops laying him in a prone position while on his back to get the cuffs on him all contributed to the man's accidental death. You can't (and the medial examiner didn't) point to any one factor and say "That's why he died" unless you want to point to him resisting arrest to begin with.

Apparently, it wasn't reckless for the cop to recklessly violate NY police code and choke Garner which contributed to Garner's death.

In both this the Ferguson case, both guys were HUGE. Fat and tall. In ferguson, you had a 6'4, 300 pound thug being called a "boy". This might be an indication to people of size that they need to comply with police officers instead of being arrested... the reactions might have nothing to do with race. A white guy, 6'6, 250 on a harley davidson resisting arrest will probably get shot at as well.
