I want a dog :(. Our house blows goat balls currently for a dog. When we move to fairfield/etc, the family shall have a dog at last.

I've heard they are wonderful, intelligent dogs, and that if you get one, you will never go to the bathroom alone again. They follow their masters everywhere. Would not be a good dog if you live by yourself and have to leave the dog alone for long periods of time.

Beagles tend to do better indoors? They become a problem when left outside.

My Beagle doesn't have a high pitched bark, it's more of a deep bark.

As for him not coming to you and barking at 2am. Sounds like he needs some training.

Dog's reflect their owners (IMO, their personality/obediance is entirely on how they were raised by their owners)

My Beagle is good, she's normally very timid. Doesn't bark at others very often. Mainly only in my last house where another dog was always in the backyard behind us.

I actually like the howl, I laugh every time my dog does it. They pucker up when they howl...funny looking.

Before i got this dog, I would have NEVER thought about getting a Beagle. Thought their eyes dropped like Hounds. And I figured they drooled/always barked.

I got a chocolate lab for Christmas last year so ive almost had her for a year now. She was actually 1 years old in October. Her names Coco and she is the best. She went through some tough times about a month ago when she got a tic. It actually paralyzed her but she survived after 3 nights in hospital and on a drip.

    Shes amazing. :D

Seeing the Pet's name thread got me thinking about this one.

How are those Damn Good Dog's doing?

I've gotten another one since this thread. He's cute, but about as smart as a 2x4.

Didn't realize this was an old thread, thought it was new. Saw I posted in it and nearly threw up, assumed someone hacked my account.
