People are entitled to personal preferences...that having been said...preaseason games in any sport are about worthless, and even if you are the most marginal baseball fan in the world I think you'd have had more fun at the playoff game. But to each their own...(but sheesh I'd have killed for those baseball tix)
I went to Barkley's first preseason game in Houston. Hakeem, Charles, Clyde all on the floor at one time. If someone offered me Astros playoff tickets, i'd toss the rockets tickets in the trash everytime. Astros/Cards LCS versus a Rockets/Bulls preseason game; i couldn't do that.
Yao and Tmac are supposed to play between 15-25 minutes tomorrow. So ugh yeah, you got ripped on that. I would have sold my astros tickets for 3times their face value(trust me they would have been bought buy someone) and bought me good seats for the Rockets opener or for the Lakers game.
Meowgi, forget droxford... how about giving me some credit for stealing the video??? I bet I steal their video in FILE MODE only so you can see it here... WACKATAZO!
You poor, poor b*stard! A hell of a game, I can barely handle watching these games at home, I think my head would ASPLODE if I was actually there.
Whoever was at the game tonight would have become a baseball fan for life.... Hell, I know people who just watched the game on TV, who are now going to be baseball fans for life because of it. This game was that epic... it was amazing... for the b-ball only fans, think Game 7 vs. the Suns in 1995 + Game 1 vs. the Magic in 1995... it was THAT good. It was baseball as it was meant to be played... top-notch pitching, top-notch defense, drama, tension, and a walkoff HR that sent this entire city into pandemonium. Amazing night.... absolutely amazing.
I got your back Droxford. As much as I'm getting caught up with my hometown Astros, I am a Rockets fan first in my heart. This site has a lot of Rockets fans who are sports fans in general. But as fun as this last weekend was in terms of sports (NFL, college football, MLB playoffs), I was most excited watching the Rockets play. I was absolutely giddy and yelling and it was just a preseason game. Hey, I got nothing against all you guys who'd take Astros playoffs tickets. But Droxford loves Rockets bball. I love hoops and would do the same. There is just a certain joy for me in watching hoops that Nothing can match. I love watching every play, every dribble, every pass, every pick, every shot, every rebound, every steal, block, etc.... And your 10th row seats must be a nice bonus.
I'll have to agree here. Regular season baseball and Playoff baseball is two totally different beasts. I went to a playoff game the last time the astros met the braves and it was pure excitement. Though we lost the game, the atmosphere was off the charts. The regular season games are so blah. Tough to say but I usually only check records and then start to watch during playoffs for baseball. note: HOW CAN STROS HAVE BASES LOADED AND NO OUTS AND NOT AT LEAST SCORE A RUN TO TIE!! (So heartbreaking that game)
I still have no regrets. I watched the Astros game on TV, and that's just fine with me. It looked like a great game, and I'm glad the Astros won... but I'm just really not a baseball fan. I don't care if Tracy or Yao are only gonna play 15 minutes - I'm not a Yao only fan or a T-Mac-only fan. I'm a Rockets fan. Pure. -- droxford
As much as I love the Rockets, preseason basketball bores me to tears. The game is meaningless, the players don’t play like they care, the fans are silent the entire time. It’s like watching a high school basketball game. I am by no means a big baseball fan. I’ve watched maybe a handful of regular season baseball games this season. Playoff baseball is a completely different experience from a regular season baseball game. You have to really have a strong disliking for baseball to not be swept away by the Astros this postseason.
