the ROY is just the MVP award for rookies. Yao clearly had a better impact on his team during their rookie years, Yao having to handle the pressure and xenophobic bias of the media, what pressure did stoudamire have??? if we're goin by numbers than Shaq should have been MVP instead of Nash. but it aint all about numbers. i never said stoudamire was not a good player, if fact i would love to have him. i just do not think he had a bigger impact on his team than Yao did. that is how the HELL i think Yao deserved the award a bit more.

Is the RoY just like the MvP? Seems more about stats than anything. Especially if you look at the last few RoY Winners (minus amare)

Amare was born on Nov 16, 1982. In 4-5 years he will be 27-28 instead of 25.

Sorry to point out your mistake.

Amare's a great player now. I won't take anything away from him, but SA decided to elevate him to cult status. They didn't guard him. Yes, I'm talking about SA, they chose to not guard him.

Hat's off to Pop, but what's weird is if Amare's like a top 20 guy you leave him alone? It worked.
