honestly, why bother being a fan if you're so pessimistic? you seem to think lower of the rockets than even an avid lakers/suns fan...they'd at least have a little respect for what we could potentially do to them.

Lmao. I love fairweather, weak willed fans like tsunami. Just root for the championship team every year tsunami, quit being a Rox fan.

I think the Suns got weaker while the Lakers got stronger. In other words the Lakers became the Suns while the Suns became the Lakers. And I'm looking forward to the Mavs sucking it up. They have an aging, low FG% guard in Kidd, a declining Dirk who can no longer carry the team, and Josh Howard who has already peaked. They also have Juwan Howard, that's like a bullet to the head.

I feel SUPERB for the Rockets after watching all these trades go down and no team (except the Lakers) being better for any of it.

You've gotten be kidding me. Lakers better? Ok. Sun's better??? Hell no. They just lost their all around greater player in Marion who was their defensive anchor. The suns look like one of the worst defensive team in NBA right now. Please. And shaq is only half of what he used to be.

Defense wins. And even though a Shane Battier won't shut down elite scorers, he does disrupt how they mesh with their teams.

Elite scorers will still go out and get you 30 points a game. But it's how they do it.

If their egos are hurt, just refer to Lebron James who up until the last couple of minutes when he decided to go out an make 3 three pointers within the last 2 minutes to bump his scoring average to 26 from 19, Defense wins out.

The Rockets aren't the flamboyant high flying scoring circus the NBA can sell easily. They are much more like the gritty non marketable fundamentally sound team.

Defense is the big equalizer. Because that is setting a pace which is within the original game plan of the coach and players. Defensive teams know how to pull out tough wins. The draw back is that they are so used to playing tough close games, that they sometimes keep it close when they should blow out other teams out of the water.

With Shaq on the court, Suns' rhythm will change. Whether the change is going to be good or bad still needs time to tell.

Lakers is doing great. I did not expect Casol fit in Lakers so quick and well. Casol is playing extremely well with Kobe as well. Phill must be a real phenomenal coach.

I could say our rotation is good, but I want it better. Since GM is not doing anything, we have to deal with it. We have built the infrastructure. Wehter we can go all the way down to the playoffs and second round of the playoffs is still yet to be proved.

I'm not worry too much about Laker since Scola can somehow handle Gasol well, but Suns do look scary, if Shaq can neutralized Yao, than Stoudumire will be a big threat  i can already see him dunking allover from miss matches on the next Roc-Suns game :(

Why so many Rocket fans that undervalue the our team? Reality check: We have...
    -a 7'6 all-star center
    -6'8 all-star guard
    -a Spurs killer
-one of the best defenses in the league plus one of the best individual defenders
-perfect on and off court chemistry on the team
-a good offense that continues to improve
-a 9 game winning streak, 17 of the last 20 games
-a bright future with young 3 rookies playing great basketball
-beaten the likes of Lakers, Jazz, Spurs, Nuggets, Suns, Pistons, nearly Celtics, Magic, Blazers, and Warriors

...and they're gonna get even better with more time

I really can't wait until this team wins a CHAMPIONSHIP and prove the doubters wrong.

Is it me or did the Suns defense look alot better with Marion? Who are they sticking on McGrady for defense, Grant Hill or Raja Bell? Neither one of those guys could hold McGrady half as well as Marion. Shaq ain't an improvement over Amare for defensive purposes against Yao. Yao has a harder time against the quicker, more athletic centers than he does against the slower, bulkier ones.

Shaq is the guy who can give Yao trouble one on one when he has enough energy.

Yeah you're right. You should just stop watching the Rockets and never post in this forum again. Just give up, why waste your time.

I don't think the Rockets should fear either one of these teams. The Lakers got Gasol but I still believe the Rockets D is better than the Lakers. I for one can't wait for the Rockets to play the Lakers.

You don't want a piece of the Mamba in the playoffs, trust me the Lakers are a deadly team, Kobe by himself can win games remember last year he averaged over 40ppg against the Rockets.

    dear tsunami:
I feel sorry for myself, having wasted precious moments of my life reading your drivel of an opinion. I'm gonna climb way out onto a limb and assume that Morey is (1) smarter than you and (2) more knowledgeable of basketball than you. I, for one, am willing to concede that our GM is infinitely more well informed than any poster on this site and I trust that he will take the appropriate action. That's not to say that we shouldn't develop our own opinions about roster moves, etc., but some people here are far too enamored with their half-crocked ideas about how a team should be run for my taste.

we'll see about that in march, any solid TEAM can beat any stars piled team, know what, we practically need chemistry not a player who seems to be helpful in our mind
