Let's just think this through for a second:

    After Van Gundy left:

    Our defense improved

    Our offense improved

    Our overall record improved

And we finished as a top 4 seed - something we didn't do with Van Gundy as our coach.

And, under the same coach as last season, our defense has once again improved so that it is now the league-best defense. And our overall position is currently 3rd in the West.

So - no, I wouldn't think there's any missing of Van Gundy at all. Nor would I suggest that there is even the slightest skerric of a problem with the coaching staff.

Do you know why those were improved?

Because of PF improvement, we got best PF players since many many years ago

Our players were going to the prime age and supposedly they were playing the better games. And we are getting better players after JVG left.

If let RA coach the JVG's Rox team, how would it happen?

Let's think another way, if JVG got the chance to coach today's Rox, what would happen?

Rockets improved because they now have a better supporting cast. JVG era was made up of scrubs.

If you haven't realized, he is averaging 18ppg and is softer than ever.

That was the team JVG put together. It was a series of endless vets who he trusted but didn't pan out starting from signing Charlie Ward as his starting PG. Les didn't even want Ward in Houston.

JVG demanded the better PFs. Les satisfied him?

    ;)

You are about 3 months late realizing this. Many of us already knew this and set right expectations before the season started. Welcome anyways.

Under RA, Yao will NEVER be talked about dominant in the paint again, which is so bad

I really miss the dominant YAO

RA is ruining Yao's potential to be great

    So sad

the offense is much worse under adelman than van gundy...just look at the stats from last year and this year. the defense has improved under adelman. adelman has got better players because morey was hired and dawson retired.

Not offense only, but defence, we need to fire Adelman and get JVG back. Adelman sucks.. :D

adelman is a strength of the team, not a weakness. the same with van gundy. the weakness was in the front office, but now that is a strength with morey. we have the least durable team of all time, its a pathetic joke.

Maybe RA wants to be the superstar of a team. That's why he ruined Yao, Tmac and Ron.

Umm, lets see.... Ron has had nothing but praise for adelman and he's known as a players coach, yet he wants to ruin those 3?

When we need a better Yao, did we have a game that Yao's attempt was above 20 this season?

Finally we saw RA used YAO about 30 mins which made Yao very effective. Some said the management informed RA to do so to keep our team move ahead healthily

We need Yao to play this all season long :D :D
