At least Bush was a man with a plan, he got things he wanted done. Obama doesn't seem to have a strategy, he's just rolling along not willing to really fight for anything. That's a sign of a weak person, not a characteristic that fits well for the the President of the most powerful country in the world. He recently just bailed on the demand for Israel's settlement freeze, way to stand your ground. Everyone in the globe now knows he'll fold when things get tough.

I'll be the first to say he hasn't fought hard enough on things that should be fought for on the Democratic side.

But that is different than getting things done. The guy has accomplished more in his first couple of years than many Presidents accomplish in a whole term.

Here is a short list: Health Care, the stimulus, increased funding for national parks and forests, expanded pell grants allowing more people to attend universities, expanded the hate crime act to include sexual orientation, got the Financial Protection Bureau established to go along with financial reform, signed a financial reform law to keep banks from proprietary trading, He's actually created more private sector jobs already than Bush did his entire two terms in office, Increased average fuel economy standards to 35 mpg starting in 2016, Ended the policy allowing the U.S. to torture and made it required that interrogators follow the army field manual on interrogations...

The list goes on and on. It's not like he's just rolling along doing nothing. He's compromised because that's his way of getting things done.

I personally believe that race really does play a role here. I have never seen a president get bashed and fought on every little thing as much as Obama. I mean the guy before him was told so many times not to do a certain thing it will screw us over and he did it anyways without regard and I do not recall the backlash being even remotely as harsh as the backlash on some of the things Obama does and Obama has done far less damaging things than Bush. But then again I live in Texas which is Bush country...

Therefore even if Obama wants to be Bush I don't think his critics will allow that to happen.

lol the race card. That was easy. Give us a break. The guy is just terrible. It doesn't matter that he's half-white, half black.

So the guy that has given you several tax cuts (your #1 issue when it comes to supporting a president) is doing a terrible job. I wonder what it would take for you to acknowledge that he's done pretty good by your standards.

    you're a joke

You're not in any position to call people out on the race card, since you seem to make it a point to mention his 'halfie'-ness in the majority of your posts about him. Must be some kind of deep seeded issue with you.

I think it does to the TEA party, which surprisingly formed after we had a "half-black" president...

The smartest thing the guy has done is to give in on the tax breaks and make a deal with the repubs. The more he works with them the better he'll look. The repubs are hoping to propose alternates or their own different forms of reforms with the anticipation of Obama & Dem's C-Blocking them all and then making themselves look partisan to the public. If Obama plays ball he may be able to save face for both himself and the democrats. In my mind I seperate the two because I don't really belive he bought into the far left rantings of the Pelosi/Reid camp. I the his 'centered' will is starting to show. I do believe his and his staff's weak point is foreign affairs. I know Bush's stance of "With or Against" did not go over well but everyone at least knew where he stood and America did not get out classed because he had a veteran staff. Right now America is getting politcally out manuevered by Russia, China, N. Korea, Venezuela and some Austrialian dude who managed to start a **** storm over some leaked cables. We are simply getting owned right now.

Personally I'd rather go back and draw a line in the sand, and not come off as such pu$$ies. Let's protect our borders and our citizens from the terrorists along the Mexican Border. Are they not terrorists if they kidnap and/or murder our people?
