i got banned from the hangout for a few months once b/c i made a highly politicized post in a thread in the hangout. i didnt whine about it or even ask any mods for mercy. i took my time-out and went into lurker mode and then one day the ability to post in the hangout came back and i returned w/ a vengeance. i actually assumed the ban was permanent and was surprised when i was able to post in the hangout again.

you have started literally dozens of D&D level posts in the hangout, get reminded over and over again that you cant do it and are now complaining when you get booted?

OHMSS is a quality poster who brings to this board great insight about the game of basketball. Yes, he's opinionated and, at times, controversial. And he rarely has a positive thing to say about the NBA. And its true, sometimes his views don't really make sense and he contradicts himself. And he's constantly insulting other posters. And, yes, he's been banned many times in the past and is an experienced troll on many NBA message boards. Its also a mystery why he bothers to post here at all, since he apparently is not even a fan of the team.

But he knows his stuff.

 

It doesn't matter if he posts 200 times about Navarro in a thread about arguably the biggest potential deal for the Rockets in years (which has absolutely nothing to do with Navarro), in the course of which he keeps insulting other posters. That's straight up trolling, and nothing else.

Also, he knows his opinions, and often enough they are outlandish. Being opinionated doesn't mean he actually knows his stuff.

And being a troll does not mean he is a quality poster.

 

That post of mine was totally sincere. Granted it made little sense for me to say he was a quality poster and then follow that up by stating he's an insulting troll who makes contradictory posts and is totally out of place on a Rockets fan message board.

But it came from the heart.

That's not true at all. I made maybe 3 posts explaining that I hoped if the Rockets got Gasol that then they could get Navarro. For that several members made numerous posts calling me out, attacking me and so forth. After a whole bunch of people coming at me like that I got a little pissed off, especially when most of them were making posts that were not even true, like "Navarro is a point guard and not a shooting guard" and calling me a troll just for pointing out that he actually is a shooting guard - which he is.


It was just such things as that with several people calling me a troll and making fun of me over and over for no reason that caused the problem. But you can twist it and spin it however you want I guess and apparently I got banned over it.

So I guess you can be happy for that. I'm so sorry I dared to try to bring some actual basketball discussion to the forum. The same forum with great basketball insight like, "Dan Langhi will be a star" DD and such.......

Yeah, I am a troll and should be banned because I was arguing about the factual position of a player, after OTHERS brought it up first.

 

Well these days, honestly, there is not much to like. Definitely Scola. He's one of my all time favorite Rockets players. I also like Hayes, but he might not be on the team anymore. But if he is, then those are my two favorite players on the team.
