This just summed up the season: Harden don't play defense. He was just watching as Lilliard run around and didn't even bother to help.
i can't come out of this series saying im proud with the way the rockets played. harden just showed up today, coaching was horrible the first two games, our late game execution is absolutely terrible. mchale needs to be fired and we need to hire a real coach who knows what he is doing. I still love the rockets with all my heart... probably why I cannot believe that this is how our season is coming to a close. I hate this so much...
How about Parsons missed, wide-open layup with like 2 minutes to go??? Or the Asik wrestling move on Aldridge which would have given Lin the 3 pointer? Or Howard missing 3 out of his last 4 free throws? Or Harden MIA in the last 5 minutes, over-dribbling then passing out to teammates with like 3 seconds left on the shot clock?
The last 5 minutes summed up this team. Howard missed free throws, Lin air balled a 3 that some how we scored on, Asik committed a needless foul on a Lin 3, Parson switched on to a man that he could not stay in front of. Harden basically disappeared unless he got foul calls, oh yeah and McHale was cross eyed on the bench? If Im Morey I trade Parson, Lin, and Asik for Carmelo, and athletic wing defender and a tough big. Bring in Stan Van and we are set. No one can stop Howard, Carmelo, and fast breaking Harden.
said it from game 1 of the season, when some were blaming just one player for getting caught behind a pick, that none of our guys are committed to defending the PnR. Teams know this and it wasn't a coincidence the blazers sent robin on a mission to screen every rocket jersey, most times setting moving screens. On the other side, PnR is what we're really good at. but like that article that was posted stated, because of some moody superstars and being afraid to upset them, we didn't run PnR to its full capacity.
