I agree that she isn't going anywhere, but where I disagree with folks is that I do not think her music has staying power.

People are putting her into the same category as Michael Jackson, the Beatles, etc. That's just ridiculous.

Trying to imagine Swift's current discography getting steady radio play for the next 50 years, I just can't picture it. Even incredibly successful female artists like Madonna and Barbara Streisand are relegated to obscurity by time.

Even if she stops putting out music today, as a celebrity she's going to be a fixture in pop culture for a while simply because of the demographic she has captured (females age 13-35) but I feel like her music is a lot like fast food. Short shelf life and it all kinda tastes the same.

This may sound like I'm ******** on her, but I'm not. She's earned what she has. Good for her. She's just not in the god-tier pantheon of musicians whose work is practically timeless.

As hard as it is for people to hear, she is an extreme work horse, I do not see much competition in terms of the newer artists having too much of an edge to them for little girls to like them.....the competition has gotten weaker.

Yeah she has her market cornered, that's for sure, and there aren't many challengers to the crown.

That being said, she's what, 33? If marriage and a family are near, that will slow her roll a bit.

The young female demo is also kinda fickle. Can't keep that market segment forever.

All this being said, I can imagine far worse musicians and role models than her, so I'm not really wishing for her to go away either lol.

I remember seeing her very first show in Australia, so popular she was that she was playing at the Factory Theatre in Marrickville to less than 200 people.

Was constantly ridiculed by my friends for liking her (still get ridiculed to this day in Aus for liking country music) and proclaiming she was going to be huge.

Wish I kept the ticket to that show. I'm sure one of her current-day crazed fans would've paid money for it today to try and get tiktok clout that they'd seen her in 2009.

It's not like they have to choose. They'll do both.

Prepare to be annoyed for awhile. At least we have going for us the fact that she doesn't *usually* stay with the same man for long. So the inevitable breakup will happen - just a matter of when.

I hope she had the Chiefs minus the points and is royally pissed at Mahones surrendering at the goal line instead of walking it in to cover the spread. Wanker play. (yes it cost me money and yes I'm salty)
