Steve was promoting his record label and his new artist, NOT himself. I totally understand his move and think it was a good idea. It is business sense.
Of course, BigBnLC also left out the fact that he was in the cast because Francis stepped on his arm.
Drewdog likes to throw the fact that Stevie hit on his girlfriend into every thread about Stevie. BBS:Stevie should play 2 Drewdog: I don't know about that, but he did once hit on my girlfriend BBS:Stevie got shafted by the IOC Drewdog: Stevie does have all the trappings of an international playboy, I mean, he did hit once on my girlfriend.... BBS:Stevie for Jermaine O'neal Drewdog: Hmmmmm, I wonder whhat kind of chance O'neal would have with my girlfriend, after all, Stevie did hit on her once. Get over yourself, Drewdog.
Steve Francis is awesome and he's a good guy. I'm sure it was just like others said, he was just trying to promote his artist and not overshadow her. STEVE KICKS @SS!!!!!
Uhhhhh, look at the date I joined sweetheart. Just because I don't post that much here doesn't mean I'm not around. Don't get me wrong, Steve is still my favorite player. And since I do READ alot of threads here, I also know that Steve is disliked by several people that post regularly. So maybe I should call BS on you for that statement.
look, you may have just read the whole situation wrong.. i feel your dissapointment on not having stevie to sign you an autograph.. but that scenario isnt really for steve. he aint there to sign autographs. he is there to show support for his artist and recording company. so, try to understand that stevie didnt signed you an autograph coz he's arrogant.. he wants the limelight on his artist and recording company, not to him. he is just like mark cuban going through every mavs game and not in coats and ties like most of the owners but on casual wear and he sits with the audience. he's there to show support, and so does steve. i wish you the best of luck the next time and i hope you do get your autograph.
Celebrities aren't going to be nice and cool to everyone all the time. They are just like you and me. They can be having a bad or ****ty day too you know? Besides, Francis is about as nice as they come. I have seen him on many occasions and he has always signed something or politely waved back, etc. the
Thank you... I'll get my autograph next time. I plan on coming to Houston this season to see my first nba game.
Off topic here... You did say she was your EX-girlfriend. If she was your girlfriend at the time, I'd have thrown the drink in his face and called him a jerk for not signing FSFemale07's autograph and for signing a practice ball for ima_drummer2k... otherwise, you can't claim vacant territory as yours by virtue of you having been there before. by the way, what's she like? got a pic? j/k.. don't take any of this seriously
Are you stalking Steve? Just kind of found it weird that you remember the exact date from over two years ago. Or was it just the fact that it was Cinco de Mayo? To the topic at hand; like many of the posters who have posted before me, I believe that Steve was trying to show support for his artist but not overshadow her. Steve is obviously the bigger name, and it's not good business to steal the spotlight from the rising star you're trying to promote.
Just to add my perspective here, it is not at all uncommon for well-known actors and/or musicians to avoid the spotlight and fans in this way when promoting someone else. In a situation like this, it can unfortunately turn into a no-win situation. I have heard that Matt Damon and Ben Affleck, when promoting directors, screenwriters, etc, through their Project Greenlight will often accompany them on press junkets as a way to draw the media there but, when asked questions, they will not answer saying that they are just there to support this other person. In other words, they are using their celebrity to bring attention to someone who they hope will develop his/her own celebrity eventually. This is also common among musicians who start recrod labels or publishing companies or become producers. They'll travel around with their artist to radio interviews and things like that just to get them in the door. My guess is that Francis wasn't being rude. He was very likely trying to keep people's attention focused on his artist and away from himself. In the world of publicity, this is extremely common.
