[I.D.I.O.T.] Rockets would welcome Harden back if that was ever in the cards

I’m over Harden forcing his way out of Houston and don’t bare him any ill will (although I absolutely do not want to see him or Morey get a championship with the 76ers). But I cringe for James with that Philly wrath. Those Philly fans are brutal and if he gets on the wrong side of them this thing is going to be a disaster. these Philly fans just aren’t gonna have the patience; they are no where near as nice as Houston fans. They will come for your family. They throw batteries at Santa Claus. It’s maybe the worst city to fail in.

Thank you for not blaming fertitta for westbrick... it was reported everywhere Harden wanted Paul out and Russ in.

No doubt tf deserves blame for not saying no; but the deal was a result of appeasing Harden and the culture of that Morey created. Players like Harden and Lebron don't recognize their conflict of interest in trading or signing their buddies... over time it's not going to work.

 

I think Harden just hasn't dedicated himself and is out of shape. He often puts in a good offseason when it's time to get paid... wouldn't be shocked to see improvement next season....

 

Well as you say, Fertitta deserves blame for going along with it....I just think it's mostly understandable.

He was a new owner and he decided to side with his team's star player over the objections of others in the organization that knew better. Hopefully he learned a lesson in the incident. You simply can't give players that level of control, the inmates cannot run the asylum. If you allow that, more often than not, they'll screw everything up then blame everyone but themselves and you're stuck cleaning up the destruction.

There's a reason you hire a GM, a head coach, and employ scores of basketball people to help make those kinds of decisions. Hopefully he sides with the basketball people in future and tells the disgruntled player to kick rocks.

 

It’s crazy how guys like lebron and harden are so good at basketball and seeing the game in real time but don’t understand what more than half of NBA fans saw with the Westbrook trades.

 

It's not their fault.

They view the game from a different angle as players and cognitive bias can blind even the most brilliant people.

Some of the things that impress players are not necessarily the things that lead to winning.

I didn't say it would happen. I said it wouldn't shock me... he's been sloppy since the beginning of the 2020-21 season. He has a history of blowing off offseasons at times... he also has a history of dialing it in when he feels like it.

If harden opts in, I would offer wall + MIL 2023 1st. If he got healthy we would be a top 4 seed in the west with our young guys. If he continues to decline, we only lost a late first.

 

Did Morey get kidnapped and forced to accept the trade in order to be released?
