I can tolerate a rebuild and not being good. The manner in which the Rockets went from title contender to rebuild is really hard to stomach.
This is the best Astros message board on the internet and I’ve visited them all. It was better before the Astros were good but even now it’s really good. There are some real turds but they don’t seem to last; almost all of the long-time posters are good. I just wish the ignore feature was more effective (removed ALL evidence of the ignored poster from the feed). Still, reading/posting here is one of my favorite hobbies.
In defense of the Texans I wouldn't call general incompetence self inflicted. Some people just don't have it in them, and that's Tommy Boy and whatever mountain of crap is around him. The Rockets had a well run organization with smart people screaming that this is a bad idea, and one "I know better than you" idiot chose to ignore them all.
The Astros fansites never really stacked up after Kev and Scott shuttered Astros Connection. I really enjoyed them, after they went away I could never get into the successors.
Last night's game and aftermath is the reason I miss the old days. Questionable moves were discussed without things devolving into crap.
OWA was pretty good, but the original TZ was the greatest. I also enjoyed Ray Kerby's old site, before others took over, but that was a contemporary to Kev & Scott and one of the reasons it was great is it had a lot of the same people.
I'm just the random news guy, honestly. The series threads are generally fine, with the exception of a few posters trying to GARM it up. Can't remember the last time I even looked at anything in the actual GARM.
