oh boy..great comeback...you really put me in my place... still no facts, and no grasp of how the slaries are structered the Rockets have the opportunity to match any offers that he will get. and they can and more than likely will match and exceed what others offer...and like I said...the current problems WILL NOT last for more than this offseason.. If you think you are so smart....BEt ME little boy..where's ur cajonies?......I'll pay 50 bucks to the tipjar if Yao leaves after his contract because the Rox continue to not use him corredtly.......put your money where your mouth is little boy...
I honestly dont think they want to do that..but given a choice between a star big man, and a star point guard/shooting guard...I really think RT/CD would prefer to have a premier bigman and find a decent non-star guard tandem. thats just gut instinct on my part...you dont allow a talented player of Yao's height to get away...he has many things you cant teach...and I really think the Rockets would put a high preimium on what Yao can bring (especially after he gets comfortable and puts on some weight) at this point....it may be time to make some deals and see if we can't get some more team oriented players. but I aint pointing any fingers...enough people around here doing that as it is.
Little boy? Look at your grammar in the last paragraph - its horrible. Where did you learn to write? Did you ever stop to think that maybe Yao is not in it for the money? The man drives a Toyota for god's sake and not some pimped out Escalade. Sure the Rockets can match any offer, but maybe he and team Yao want to go to a city with higher exposure. I am not saying that Yao will or will not leave. All I am saying is that there is a POSSIBILITY of him leaving. When Shaq retires, don't the Lakers have a huge salary spot just waiting to be handed out? Its an idiot statement to say that the Rockets will not allow him to leave. They might have the financial backing but there are other motivations in life. You can never say never pal.
These problems will not last that long? I kind of doubt it. After seeing the "progress" they have done on yao this season, I really wonder which way they are going? up or down? Yao has proved months ago that he can play, but Rox has not proved that they can play him well. They haven't given us a glips of hope.
yep. when you have no other point...make fun of someone's typos. Damn the no edit...ok whatever.. don't feel so confident to put your money where your mouth is...I understand...good night.
If you don't think they can solve their problems in 3 years..(not 6 months) then, why don't you just give up on em now?. Oh , I forgot..you already have. They have problems, yes, I would be stupid to pretend they don't. I am willing to wait at least another year to see if they can make the personnel moves or system changes to repair the problems. I have been a fan thru the worst of seasons and because of that, I have learned patience. They have had Yao 6 months, they have to ralize that something is fundamentally wrong with either their chemistry or their team. Les will demand it be fixed over the offseason, make no mistake about that.
I do wish Yao would demand the ball more. He's the star, so maybe he knows more than I do... but man. Bizarre substitutions tonight, just bizarre. I don't know what we can do this offseason to improve, either. The Rockets simply refuse to play as if they CANNOT lose. They NEED to be panicking now, they NEED to realize that it's swirling down the toilet and come out with non-stop intensity. The Rockets have less intensity than any other team in the NBA right now. It just boggles my mind. Something major has to be done to turn this team around. I don't have a clue what that is. This team in its current incarnation simply REFUSES to go anywhere. It's terrible that the Rockets have painted themselves into a corner roster-wise, because the 12 guys they have right now aren't getting it done or pretending that they REALIZE it's all going to hell. They're the most comfortably awful team ever assembled.
I am not talking about the typos, but rather the grammer. I don't fully understand what you meant in later part of your last paragraph. Where am I going to put my money? I did not say that Yao will or will not leave. All I said was that there is a possibility of him leaving. Nothing more, nothing less. You on the other hand just seem to be oblivious and believe that there is a 100% chance of the Rockets resigning Yao. The chance might be high but its not 100%. Nothing is guaranteed in this world Little Boy.
Hey, start watching the team in Houston that actually cares about winning...the Astros. The Rockets are a joke.
Larry is either extremely obtuse or way ahead of his time because I just could not believe his rotation since taking over for Rudy. You'd think that he had learned enough from Rudy to at least immitate his mentor's substitution strategy. This is just so freaking dumb. And Yao needs to step up and take over the game. Forget about passing the ball. Go ahead and take 20 shots a game. Head must roll now. I want blood.
Anyways. First. New coach. Then trade Moochie, Bostjan Nachbar, and Cato for Toni Kukoc, Desmond Mason, and a 2nd round draft pick. Then somehow get Elton Brand...by somehow getting rid of Glen Rice and Cuttino Mobley and Eddie Griffin. If they do not do this...we will suck. We don't need to make any roster changes really. We have a good team. But they really need a good coach who can coach them. And if they could just beat all the teams they are supposed to beat next season, our record won't look this bad.
Nachbar and Maddox need to have playing experience, they might be much better than we have now.Order of Importance to Rockets Team for next season:- Level a) Yao Ming Level b) S.Francis Level c) C.Mobley, E. Griffin, Mo Taylor,J.Posey C.Cato, Morris Level d) Maddox, Nachbar. Level e) M.Norris,J. Hawkins, G.Rice & J.Collier Anyone from level c) through level e) should be unsure of their Rockets future. I do think that Maddox and Nachbar deserve a chance to develop themselves into decent Role Players for the Rockets.
I didn't believe this kind of theory at all before. After after watching tonight's game I find it a little harder to tell myself not to believe it.
Or you could send me my ****ing money back. Sorry that I'm sick and tired of watching this team play like utter **** when the season's on the line.
Yeah, and don't be a smartass by actually sending my money back. I'd gladly pay $34 to meet Smeggy and the others, even if I'll be treated to some horrible basketball.
Damn skippy, Dakota. I just know I'm going to check my paypal later, and my money's gonna be returned.
