Leon Redbone does some excellent versions of "Let it Snow", "Winter Wonderland" and others.

Eartha Kitt singing "Santa Baby" is quality.

This is why I stay out in the warehouse and listen to the Rock station. Christmas CDs on loop in the store is torture.

First, it is not hard at all to listen to radio and not hear Christmas songs. They're called "presets", you dipsh*ts. Just change the friggin channel.

Second, only 99.1 plays Christmas non-stop in Houston, and if you're irritated that you don't get their regular soft-rock hits, then you're a douche.

For every other station, they'll play a Christmas song once out of every 10 songs at most. If you refuse to change the station and fester while it is playing, you're also a douche.

As for myself, I like hearing the occasional Christmas song during the holidays, and when I'm not, I train myself to push another preset button.

i love christmas songs (i know people aren't dissing "little drummer boy"). i think my favorite has to be O Holy Night. i could listen to that on continuous loop for quite a while without getting sick of it. i'm not actually sure which version they play on the radio but the best replacement i can find is the one by Charlotte Church. she's got a great voice for hitting the high notes (which make that song).

as for all the other christmas songs, as much as i like them, i'll also say i like that they only get heavy play for the 24 hours starting Christmas Eve and then on into Christmas. it's kind of like the Thanksgiving meal, I love it and look forward to it all year, but I like just limiting it to that one day. it would ruin and dilute the experience if it was an everyday occurrence. so i love to get my fill of christmas songs that one day, although i don't mind the occasional one thrown in like some stations start doing after Thanksgiving.

Yeah, I have the same problem except I can't escape to the warehouse. Working in retail is truly hell 'round Christmas time; but it's the non-stop barrage of X-mas music at work that brings me down the most.

As a musician and all around music junky I can't tune it out and actually start getting very irritated by the various arrangments and scores of the songs. Seems like every yahoo and their brother has released a x-mas song over the years, and one thing this world does not need is 15 million interpretations of 'Jingle Bells'. And damned if over half these ass-clowns dont want to have their own unique take on a standard. I think it's Ethyl Murman (sp? ah, wh gives a f***) who does this version of Jingle Bells that makes me want to kill people.  :(

I get sick of christmas songs, as well.

If you want a nice change of pace, I suggest "Christmas at Ground Zero" and "The Night Santa Went Crazy", both by Weird Al Yankovic.
