Lack of professionalism/brains is what ruined him.

His career was good in Orlando until they traded Mobley.[IMG]

But seriously his stats and his play were still really good in Orlando until his quadracepts failed him. He put up decent numbers in NY just not Stevie Franchise calibur.

Cuttino ended up with heart problems when he went to the Clippers.

How do you mend a broken heart.

Even if he never plays again, I appreciate the video.

The Stevie/Cuttino days were fun. I loved the competitive spirit of those teams, even when things weren't going well. That season where Moochie had all of those game-winners was awesome.

Plus, you can't go wrong with Pig Miller as your starting center. :p

I believe Steve Francis still has a shot of making a team and showing people that he can still play he even knows himself that he has a lot of haters and is aching to shut the critics up. Last I heard was that he was back in his hometown of Maryland working out even more while his agent would be doing the work of talking with teams that would show interest in getting Steve.

Another chance with the Rockets would be lovely since his second run around he didn't really get a true chance but just a taste of playing time. A couple of good games opened some eyes but that all went to heck when his quad injury came back to haunt him. He thought he could ignore it and hold off surgery and paid the price. After settling for surgery he made strides to come back better than before (losing that excess 15 pounds last offseason etc.) He was easing into being able to play practices and get into a groove but the Rockets couldn't wait any longer since they needed to sign Deke.

I'm sure Francis will make a comeback with some team this season and find a nice role for himself where his services would be useful. Just to hear news of him trying out or playing at training camp for a team and impressing would be great, even better if it was for the Rockets. He's made his big bucks already so he should settle for less and work for a ring. He wants to retire a Rocket so I'm sure this isn't the last we've seen of him.

He gets hated on because he was one of the most physically gifted PGs of all time yet one of the dumbest. You can blame it on the injuries all you want but by doing that you are ignoring the heavy amount of turnovers (he constantly led the league in that category) and the horrible shot selection. Maybe he had an injury to his brain?

Lets face it, he was a dumbass. He was a waste of talent. He could have been great, but his career is coming to a close and it is pretty obvious that he is not going to the HOF.

I sincerely hope the legion of Francis fans are fans solely of his athletic ability and not of his actual overall basketball acumen. While he was undoubtedly talented, he was also undeniably one the densest players i have ever had the torturous, maddening priviledge of watching. He was the Geneva watch of Rocket history. Aesthetically pleasing, and would work reliably for years, but ultimately not Rolex.

Everyone calling Steve a loser should call Tracy a loser too. They both have equal playoff success.

I'm calling Steve a terrible basketball player, based on the merits of his game. Losing and winning are affected by the totality of the team. Though that does not immunize the leader of those teams, it does factor in immensely.

Not individual wise. Tracy is a top 5 player in the NBA in the playoffs.

My IQ just went down 10 points from reading this. Because I walked by and accidently caught a glimpse of Maury on Friday, I lost 5 points there. Please try not to post again. I don't have that much IQ to spare!!!!!!

You are correct that neither has been past the first round (as an active player.) However, that's where the similarity ends.

-Tracy has been to the playoffs 7 times, accumulating 13 playoff wins.
-Steve went to the playoffs 1 time, winning only 1 game.

So, in short, at least Tracy was good enough to consistently carry his teams to the playoffs. Steve cannot make that claim.

I'm not here to slam Stevie Frenchfry. I'm just here to laugh at all you people who want him back and think he could really help this team.

I hope to never see Steve at Toyota center again unless he's sitting in the stands with Cat wearing street clothes.
