Kobe had no excuse except youth for playing selfish with a healthy and athletic and prime Shaq.

Steve Francis was going to go as far as his athleticism took him...which was one playoff berth as a 7th seed.

His body did breakdown which was unfortunate...but thats why he should've learned the game. He could've been a servicable guard in this league at the very least.

He made wayyy too many turnovers for a point guard...I don't see the Rockets ever making noise with Steve and Yao even if both were healthy...I think if Tmac and Yao were both healthy they had a better chance to be contenders.

simply put Tmac>>>>Franchise...not much Francis could do about that...Tmac was more skilled, bigger, longer, and just as athletic, if not more athletic...but bball IQ is what really separates them, thats where SF3 could've done something to help his career.

seeing as how francis would help put butts in the seats its not such a terrible idea.

assuming the team makes no other moves, having a veteran in the locker room to help calm some of the youngsters is a great idea.

and yes i am a stevie franchise fan... i know he won't be what he was, but he can still contribute in the locker room... possibly contribute on the court if he can get into game shape.

then again i'd rather bring back mike harris. i always liked him. if i had to pick between harris and francis i'd say take harris.

My problem with Steve was that he confused turnovers with assists. He would get 6-7 turnovers and 3 assists. It cost us many games.

You're right, he's too busy dealing with Yao's foot to be worried about Francis right now.

    Dear God,
    Hope you got the letter,
And I pray you can make it better down here.
I don't mean a big reduction in the price of beer,
But all the people that you made in your image,
See them starving on their feet,
'Cause they don't get enough to eat

    From God,
    I can't believe in you.

    Dear God,
    sorry to disturb you,
but I feel that I should be heard loud and clear.
We all need a big reduction in amount of tears,
And all the people that you made in your image,
See them fighting in the street,
'Cause they can't make opinions meet,
    About God,
    I can't believe in you.

Did you make disease, and the diamond blue?
Did you make mankind after we made you?
    And the devil too!

    Dear God,
    Don't know if you noticed,
But your name is on a lot of quotes in this book.
Us crazy humans wrote it, you should take a look,
And all the people that you made in your image,
Still believing that junk is true.
Well I know it ain't and so do you,
    Dear God,
    I can't believe in,
    I don't believe in,

I won't believe in heaven and hell.
    No saints, no sinners,
    No Devil as well.
No pearly gates, no thorny crown.
You're always letting us humans down.
The wars you bring, the babes you drown.
Those lost at sea and never found,
And it's the same the whole world 'round.
The hurt I see helps to compound,
that the Father, Son and Holy Ghost,
    Is just somebody's unholy hoax,
And if you're up there you'll perceive,
That my heart's here upon my sleeve.
If there's one thing I don't believe in...

    It's you,
    Dear God.

they should bring Francis and Cat back for one game, then they could retire.
    they did this for Barkley.

Francis will wear #3 cause that's his number!

He was fun to watch but he was the worst starting PG in the game back when he was a starting PG.

The guy is dumber than a rock. Constantly led the league in turnovers. His shot selection was HORRIBLE. Everytime I think of Steve Francis/Moochie Norris, a loud shotclock buzzer goes off in my ear. And it is not a good feeling at all.

Good riddance. Last thing we need is his dumb ass developing Brooks/Lowry. Hopefully he becomes a Spur and ruins them.

Since Yao is out, I think the Rockets could still trade for Vernon Maxwell, who the Mavericks still have the rights for.

Have him wear #11 and win some games for us. I believe the hero still has super powers!

While we are at it, why not bring back the Dream. Now that would be fun to see 50-year old Hakeem dreamshaking all over the league. I honestly would not mind that as I would love to see him retire with the Rockets.

It's kinda like this. Maxwell's son who is really Ray Allen forgives him, but Max is still in jail cause the "MAN" put him there.

I don't know why Steve gets so much hate around here. I love Steve cuz he kept the post-Hakeem Rockets fun.

He didn't win much, but we were rebuilding... I don't know what anyone was expecting.

He was one of the most physically gifted PGs of all time... and had one of the best rookie seasons any Rocket has ever had.

Don't Really think people hate on Steve that much on this board. I think its just like how Steve is perceived in Houston. Either you hated him or loved him. I think its pretty much 50-50.

Before Steve, Emanual Davis was our hope for the future. We started an 80-year old Sedale Threatt.

You'd rather have those guys than Steve?

Mayn I wish but I know his time has come and gone even though I hate to say it. I am one of the biggest franchise fans out there and seeing him going out like he did just hurts me but injuries happen I guess just look at our own tmac but back to franchise I don't think there are many players that play hard every night with passion and heart like francis did. I think if tmac had this type of mentality he would be a killer nba player. So f yall stevie haters

Steve had Kelvin Cato, Mo Taylor, and freakin' Shandon Anderson as major players on the team. Was anyone really expecting championships with that squad?

You guys can say all you want about Stevie Franchise, but that guy had more heart than any Rocket since.

I really think it was the Mcgrady trade that ruined him.

In other news I think Aussie Rockets quoted Sarah Mclachlan above.
