Who cares about 2 games in the regular season when we saw quantifiable progress in the playoffs Adelman isn't just above average, he's a GREAT coach. He definitely got the better of McMillan in the first round, and stretched Pjax to 7 games despite having vastly inferior talent on the court.
The thread actually makes some sense when you take into his stances on various topics in the past. Think about who he criticizes, who he praises, where he stands. This poster is one of the few I would have thought of had I read this post without knowing who did it.
What? This post should be engraved in the Clutchfans HOF for moronic nonsense. Sir, you have no debate skills at all so please stop trying. When you arguing against something then you present evidence supporting that claim. Here you rant on and on about not winning a championship so its neccessary to fire the coach? You think they other 29 teams that didn't win the championship should do the same? Please, your facts only strengthen the case that not only should we keep Adelman but he should be applauded and praised for his coaching. In any other sport, if a coach can manage to take the eventual champions to a game 7 and lose, he will be considered a superb coach. According to your delusional logic, Stan Van Gundy should also be fired for not winning against the Lakers. What about Bill Billicheck after 18-1? A lot of the stuff about JVG is useless when he never a championship either. There goes your whole premise about what makes a coach great. The thing about the the Rockets having heart and chemistry, well that all happened under Adelman not your boy Gundy. You continue to yap about Adelman losing games early in the season, guess what, professional sports are all about what have you done for me recently? Last time I checked he just took his team to a game 7 against the Lakers. Your whole logic is flawed and you have no serious debate here other than crying about "what if's". Thread Failed. Mod please lock and incinerate!
Don't you see? He's an insider. Stephen Curry has the best "Step Back" jumper in the draft. He steps back and FIRES! Obviously, we are going to make a trade and draft Stephen Curry. Thanks man.
If Rockets is full healthy, they had 3 top 30 players, with great role players as shane/Scola/hayes, and great contributors on rafer/landry/deke/von. They had 2 and half top defeners. At beginning of the season, they had proved players luthur/steve/barry as bench warmers. They had an amazing run in the end of the last season and won 55 games with Yao missed handful games and with new coach, new system and new role players. They added an impact player on Ron this year. And please you tell me what did you expect? I've been watching NBA more than 20 years. Let's see what roster of 72 wins Chicago bulls had? Top 8 are Jordon, pippen, rodman, happer, longley, kukoc, kerr and bill winington. The top 3 of bulls for sure is much better than Rockets' top 3. But Rockets are much much deeper. and you don't need your franchise players to play great to beat the bottom teams. If the Rockets can win half of those 14 games that lost to the bottom fillers, Rockets was already a 60 wins team. Don't tell me that it's too much for 'the 2nd best team'. These board full of fans jump on and off the bandwagons. Your guys are disbeliever. You don't believe this team is good enough to win the WC. If a shrunk KB and the fakers can win the WC, definitely a Rocket team with Tmac as 2nd/3rd option can win WC.
Believing that a team with healthy players can win a title has nothing to do with the thread at hand. I fully believe that a healthy Yao and Deke gets us by Portland in 4 or 5 and beats LA in 6 games. It's all gravy after that. Thats how good a coach Adelman is. Adelman did an admirable job keeping the ship afloat early in the year when he had players in and out of the lineup.
In fact, it was much better without one of our "franchise" players. Without TSlack, we did well against the bottom feeders. With TSlack, it was a toss up. He alone cost us 5+ games. OP, don't blame Adleman unless you blame him for not benching TSlack.
The point is why in the hell would you fire the head coach after the team has had their best season playoff wise since 1999. And we were still getting better when our players were all going down with injuries. And still are getting better. Thats just ludicrious!
