Wow...you musta watched a different game than I did...the one where Dallas didn't get their first lead untill the third quarter.
My point is that the Mavs know how to play to beat Houston, they just don't have enough talent and the coaching to play well enough for 48 minutes. Up until the end of the 4th quarter, Dallas was progressively gaining on Houston and wearing them out with their press, their motion offense and rebounding. They just made stupid plays at the end. Still Houston is a better team and will win.

So, to paraphrase your thoughts... 1) the Mavs had the Rockets 'number' most of the game, so much so that Dallas spent the entire game progressively 'gaining' on Houston up until the end of the 4th quarter, and... 2) the Mavs know how to beat Houston ... but they're not good enough to.
Yes, that's my point. As the game progressed Dallas took the momentum by sticking with a solid game plan, but critical mistakes in the final minutes cost them the game. I think the game stats and box score show that.
Ahhhhhhh, ok. so now the mavs don't have ENOUGH talent. alright, i understand now. It's all chemistry. We have offensive and defensive chemistry, they have offensive chemistry that can be disrupted. end of story.
Which stats? They outrebounded us and surpassed our 50% from the 3-pt line with 67%, but after that... We shot 55% , they shot 50%. We had 4 more assists, twice as many(12) steals, 2 less t/o. Which stats show that 'they knew how to beat us but weren't good enough'? Moreover, all this box score stuff is nonsense. We scored 2 more points than they did. Whether they 'knew' some secret to beating us isn't an issue.
the mavs were clearly never in control at any time during game 1 or 2 how can you say they know how to beat houston if they can't defend tmac and yao and dirk can't get anything going against bowen having someone's number is completely dominating someone mavs were up in rebounds and 3 pt pct but thats it rox were dominating them everywhere else just bowen has dirks numbers and tmac has mavs number (bradley actually has tmacs number - imprinted on the back of his shirt)
With JVG as coach I just can't see that happening. And I haven't heard anybody talking Spurs either. That's deosn't mean the Mavs can't win a freakin bb game, and it also wouldn't be the end of the world. That last game was tight, tough and long. WHo knows/ T might miss the same shot tonight from further out and they win by 1. Personally, I believe that berry,wesley,james and sura along with DK won't forget to bring the hunger, ya know? I mean THEY REALLY want a ring.
What a stupid thought. Yes they have talent!! And guys... it's not the players who are starting this overconfidence thing it's just the media And for God's sake! Arguing on which game is single most important on the other thread is the most stupid thing to do! Ever. Go watch some movie or sth. If we loose this game, we still have better chances then Dallas and don't say it's that confidence factor...
Dear Lord: Help us! You created each of us with special purposes. While the Mavs are fishing specialists, we the Rockets are terrible fishers. Please, let them go fishing, not us.
If we lose game 4 then I'm going to start worrying... Its done, it already happened -we have to move on and look forward to Game 4. I'd still rather be in the position we're in than the position the Mavs are in....
