I am NOT too worried...this is not the regular season where the squad will sleep through an opponent because they think they are going to win no matter what (ie - charlotte) this is the playoffs and if nothing else game 2 was proof that if you do not bring 110% 100 % of the time you will lose the game. I'd say the Rox intensity rests on OUR shoulders...the fans..We have to keep them pumped...we have to stay on our feet. We have to keep Dallas off rythym.

Dallas is the one who is coming in timid. Everyone is saying how they are going to be ready to battle....just like they were going to be ready in Game 2 right...their MUST win...Rox may not sweep them but we will advance.

JVG IS TOO MUCH COACH FOR DALLAS...

No way JVG lets them get overconfident. There's no coach in the league more adept at bring his team back to reality. Grumpy simply won't have it. I'm not worried.

The players on our team didn't pay any attention to the media when they were predicting Mavs in five, so I see no reason to believe they're going to start paying attention to them now. Sheesh. It's not like the Rockets are unaware how tough to beat the Mavs are, they've already played about the closest game possible when Yao and Tracy were both clicking and barely got it done.

Do the Rockets have confidence in their abilities? You better believe it, and they SHOULD be confident and play with confidence. They're a great team. But I don't think it's even possible for a Jeff Van Gundy team to be overconfident. The Rockets will play the next few games with the same hunger that we've already seen in these playoffs.

I hope our players stay focused and close out the series in the next 2-3 games. We'll celebrate after we seal the deal.

Man, this is so true. Complacency is a killer. We need to stay focused, I am sure T-Mac had learned his lesson about saying too much before a series was over. Yao, he is humble, he wont write off the series before its done.

Everytime we have a winning streak, Jon and Sura. or even VGD appear in some radio program and blah, blah, blah.
It's dangerous. I hope they can do it after we win something. And they can talk for a month and I won't be bored to hear them.
Just remember we are not perfect last game. Lose in rebounds, Sura have too many turnovers, and we let them shoot 3s like rain. Want to be a Champion? Fix those first!

I hope the Rockets avoid having one of those patented bad first quarters where the whole team is just flat. I was very impressed in game 2 when they matched and exceeded the mavs intensity in the 1st quarter.

Although this is a worry, not reallt. TMAC is a true leader and he has had a 3-1 lead before, gotten cocky, only to end up losing the series. He WILL keep this team in check along with Van Gundy. They know they haven't done anything yet, and in order to beat Dallas, Game 3 is a MUST WIN.

0-2 but playing well in close games maybe, but 2-0 with different heroes every night assures me that we've got Dallas figured out.

Ah, the life of a fan.

Up 2-0: Our players are overconfident!

Tied 1-1: This series is too tight, I'm going to have a heart attack.

    Down 0-2: We SUCK!

2-0 while the mavs played game 2 with incredible energy, a raucus crowd, and insane 3 pt shooting, assure me that the Mavs hit us with their best shot. The team won't say it, but this series is over. And if that comment gets me on the "Classic Moments" banner at Mavstalk, then so be it.

I don't know about being overconfident (players)

I just like our guys to forget the past and get the game face on. Just say blah, blah, blah, Dallas is a very tough team, We must play our best, blah, blah, blah...

Then go out and whack them all over again.

    That is our style.

We don't need to be saying we are confident, we are coming together, we have frustrated them, we are this and that.

We do it on the court.

Sheesh , I need to chill, I am sounding like a Van Gundy clone.

Sorry, I never have recovered from the Buffalo game where they rammed it down the Oilers throat in the second half way back in ancient history.

I will feel better come tip off Thurs night, I expect TMac to have it ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is what I like to see-

That's just the right balance of confidence and humility.

Win or lose, those guys would be on the radio anyways. So many of y'all are making a bunch of noise about normal stuff. Didn't anyone see T-Mac's interview by Aldridge after the game. "We've done nothing. It's only 2 games. etc. etc." That dude is in the absolute correct mindframe. Go Rockets.

Yeah. Don't count your cows before they hatch.

That's like locking the barn door after the chicken has gotten out.

Yao should keep on getting the ball until the burros come home.

I'm so excited about the Rox that wild chickens couldn't drag me down!
