Bear Grylls said "pound for pound, cockroaches have more protein than beef" what doesnt kill you makes you stronger.
Feels good to know I am not the only one who is scared of insects. Preying mantises and walking sticks are my worst fear. I'd rather have a lion in my room than those things.
I've lived in Houston, Philly, NYC, New Jersey, Upstate NY, Hong Kong and SF. Houston is by far the worst with roaches cuz those suckers fly and are all huge. NYC would be #2 on my list but they don't seem to fly and they only seem to show up in the kitchen and bathroom, as opposed to any freakin room in Houston. When I moved to SF and was interviewing for shared-housing, I always asked about roaches and everyone looked at me like I was a crazy person. I stopped asking the roach question after the 20th interview because apparently, roach problems are rare in SF. Some folks just don't understand.
Few years ago I had roaches in my flat, came from neighbor upstairs down to my flat. Had to pay few hundred dollars to exterminate them... they were apparently in the chimney of the building... heard one story where guy couldn't find their nest and one day he needed to repair his phone and found their nest there... wtf, these creatures are unbearable
Just make sure chris bosh doesn't see this thread LOL Yes I too hate the roach, but that spider video was hilarious!
I have a semi-phobia of roaches. I don't care if I indirectly make contact roaches through a medium... but if in at least a 5 foot radius of the hideous POS, I will run.
You guys are p*****s. I hate flying roaches too, but that is only because such an ugly creature gets to fly and I don't.
Eh those are Cicadas, not locust. They are not even slightly similas (except that they are both Insects).
That doesn't even make sense. If you're going to insult someone on a message board, at least take a few seconds to make it a good insult.
The small german roaches are the one you need to worry about in your home, they reproduce like crazy and are pretty resilient to pest control. The big american cockroaches reproduce less and and are more easily controlled with pest control.
I have phobia of cockroaches, lizards, and rats. Cockroaches can fly and leave their scent on my things. Lizards give me the goose bump with their big eyes. Both I would try to 'exterminate' if they are in my house. A rat once ran across my leg when I was a kid. I can feel it's claws and the dirty drain water. I'll never forget this incident. Recently, there was an incident in Hong Kong where a tourist was bitten by a rat. That's my nightmare.
My girlfriend is from NYC and is terrified of the big tree roaches, or as she calls them, "waterbugs." It's a true phobia. Seeing her experience her first massive Houston roach was pretty memorable. We were paying our tab at the West Alabama Ice House, and a big mother****ing roach crawled up on the wall behind the bartender. My girl screamed and the old guy next to her yelled, "Shoot it!" My girlfriend lost her **** completely and ran out into traffic. She kept saying to me, "It had a face! IT HAD A FACE!!"
Go to Lowe's/Home Depot and procure yourself some industrial strength roach bait/gel. Put some in every dark corner you can find in your house. Give it a few days, and you won't see another one again for at least four months or more. Once I see one in my house, I know it's time to renew the baits. I just change them out and they disappear again.
I think i'll write the mayor Have him pass a law That would help me get these nasty roaches Off my wall <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/yygrgcOtezM&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/yygrgcOtezM&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
