I am so pissed, this might be the most ignorant crap I had to deal with

Seriously, though, I imagine it sucks. The people in the room next to mine at Dobie have this system that must have some extraordinary bass cuz it can literally shake stuff in the room and is very loud. However, they don't play it late at night or anything or even that often so it's actually kinda cool to hear it every once in a while. Hope you get some sleep. At least tomorrow is a holiday.

Just because a song has bass to it doesn't mean it is a techno song, geez!

 

Dobie's walls seem very thin....we almost got kicked out of there for so many noise complaints (and other things). If you have a large stereo, playing it at almost any volume at all will potentially cause a problem there.

 

I had it worse than this once. . .

it was a school/work night. some A-hole turned his stereo up as loud as it would go. . .

and then ****ing LEFT!!!

he wasn't even there!

I called the cops, but it took them a few hours to come and deal with it.

it's one thing when people are actually partying or whatever. but to just turn your stereo up loud and then leave. . .

F you, A-hole!! I'm still pissed.

 

I deal with it almost daily...the idiot people that live in my neighborhood thinks that everyone wants to hear their crappy "oompah" music. a lot of times they will turn their car stereos on, leave the car/truck doors open, then GO INSIDE THEIR HOUSE!!! idiots!!

Calling the police sometimes helps.

 

in the apartment my wife and i lived in after first getting married, there was a girl next door to us whom I'm convinced was a prostitute. there would be different guys there all the time, but the walls were thin and you could hear quite a good deal of what was going on...so much so that it would wake us up at night!!! because she was attractive, i always blushed talking about it with my wife, like somehow i was doing something wrong.

then...she moved out and a new couple moved in...it was like an episode of Cops there all the time!! she was an alcoholic and he was just a jackass...and they would fight constantly, sometimes involving the police. he would lock her out of the house in the middle of the night and i'd hear here screaming, "jimbo...let me in...please let me back in...i swear...i wasn't really gonna hit you with that!" amazing! not a bad neighborhood, either...west side of town in the energy corridor.

when we moved out to the apartment we live in now, there was a young family who lived above us....they had a little girl who would start running around the house early in the morning...you could hear her footsteps constantly...that bugged...then they moved out...

and now we have this older asian couple that live above us...really nice people...quite 90% of the time...BUT...this couple is still VERY sexually active...and it's great they still love each other, but man is it gross to imagine at 4 AM when we can hear the bedsprings creaking so loud they wake me up...and I'm a VERY deep sleeper!

the worst was in my dorms during my freshman year at baylor...some guy across the hall would play the tecnho version of Sesame Street full blast at all hours all year long. drove me absolutely insane....

 

The dudes across the street from my condo used to do that sh*t....till late one night someone came along and busted the windows out of all their cars. I haven't seen them since....

p.s. the best thing about living alone is I can BOOM any time, any kind, any hour. Ahhhhh, it IS a free country!

I understand. The person living beside me must have the most amazing speakers on the face of the planet. My system's not that bad... but I can't even tune his music out .

Luckily, he seldom listens to more than 2-3 songs that loudly. Must be just as painful to his ears, too, or something...

Whenever you are disturbed, start calling him till he quiets down. It actually works.

Freshman year in the dorms, I lived next to some frat guys who were always loud. One night, I was woken up by a girl enjoying herself in their room if you know what I mean. My roommate went outside and saw several pissed off people in the hall. No one could get any sleep cause she was so loud. He came back in and told me that everyone in the hall was going to call the frat guys and hang up. So the pattern of rings started and soon everything got quiet. Noise was not a problem for the rest of the year.

I can just imagine the look on the guy's face when the phone started to ring off the hook at 4 AM

 

I shouldn't really complain. My roommate was a wannabe DJ so he had some huge speakers. We'd blast it all the time..hehehe

 

In the dorm last year, we had bunk beds. I was on top, and right by the vent for the heat/air conditioning. Well, one girl on the THIRD FLOOR (I was on the first) liked to have sex. Not just sex, but porno sex. The only problem was, she liked to do it at 6 or 7 am on Saturday's. Every other Saturday morning, we'd be awoken to this girl having the time of her life.

That and my neighbor had an impressive stereo system hooked up to his computer. And he liked to play war games. Early in the morning. I fell out of bed one time because I was awoken to a nuclear war. Not exactly the most fun time of my life.

 

that cant be near as bad as someone smoking a cigarette in their apt next to you...
