Agreed. I should have said "perceived force".

This is hogwash, you can't really think this.

Let me try from another angle. If I determined that everyone in the mosque was American, would it be appropriate to say that Americans didn't help out?

The reason I got annoyed with your suggestion is because the impracticality of it is so visible, therefore I must assume that a rational human can see it. If a rational human can see that, then I have to further assume that their is an alterior (ulterior?) motive to make that suggestion or incompetence.

Through your posts, I tried to fish out a signal whether you are either incompetent, but did not find that. I tried to fish out whether you genuinely believe its practical, and I discovered that the suggestion was poorly formulated. The only other thing it could be is you have another motive.

Which one is it? If I've misunderstood you, please tell me. I refuse to believe that you discuss politics here day-in, day-out yet you believe that the mosque-goers should/could have helped in the Ft. Hood thing is a valid suggestion.

Also, thanks for ignoring my bit about "I would help whenever I could".

Why are some Muslims so intolerant that they have to resort to insults when it comes to differing opinions about Israel?

And why are they directing their insults at the wrong person (bigtexxx instead of me)?

Thanks for the in-depth science experiment on my posts. And I'm also really curious to hear what my ulterior motive is. Once your analysis is complete, please do share the findings with me - I'm dying to know what you come up with. TIA

My thoughts are pretty practical, actually. This guy attended the same mosque as a couple of 9/11 hijackers. Is it really that far fetched for somebody within that mosque to help out and perhaps assist?

All this anger about the mere suggestion of helping out leads me to believe that many have attitude problems and could be more helpful.

To be fair, I'm less pissed about your idea and more pissed about your method.

But I've wasted enough time on this crap.

I think Israel's actions are deplorable but that Hamas is worse. However, Israel is rightfully exposed to a higher standard, being one of the most developed countries in the world. And as long as American carte blanche and Security Council vetoes are available for Israel, there will be little incentive for the country to change.

dmc89 thank you for your reply. I will try to find it. The Israel lobby really is amazing.

It is lol. I wanted to reply when I saw the "police their own" thing, but thinking about how to argue with a person who disagrees with such a basic point made me tired and lazy. :p

Good post. Israel's mistreatment of Gaza, for instance, is a stain on America since we have the power to change it.

One other point to remember: the neo-con nuts who have gradually completed their domination of Israel are not Judaism per se or even Israel. They can eventually be changed and then a one state solution can be instituted to bring a reasonable amount of justice as well as peace to the area. (or if the neo-con nuts can be completely discredited very soon perhaps a two state lsoution with the pre-1967 borders, though I suspect it is too late for that.) A solution will be of great benefit to the US as we will not have to be enemies with much larger countries that have resources we need access to. Israel/Palestine or Palestine/Israel will benefit, too, as they won't have to waste so much of their GDP on militarism.

"Israel angers U.S. by approving new West Bank homes" - Reuters UK

    http://www.reuters.com/article/newsOne/idUSTRE5AG2P520091117

900 more new homes have been approved. The White House, the UN, the Palestinians, and Great Britain are all pissed saying stuff like this "undermines peace talks and is dismaying". Israel responds that it "strongly objects to the American demand to halt construction in Jerusalem."

Anyone who is outside the US (i.e China most middle Eastern states) clearly sees the dangerous level of hold Israeli interests have over our nation and our inability to do jack for the peace process. I'm not advocating an Inquisition or anything but this is ridiculous that a country the size of New Jersey with weapons and money that we taxpayers subsidize is doing this to us.

Reminds me of a spoiled brat of a kid who rebuffs the wealthy father's feeble commands to do something. I would slap him till he learned some manners and learned to be grateful for the opportunities the wealth opens for him.

I wouldn't care, except that a lot of that anger is aimed towards us due to our aid of Israel.

It is wrong and they need to stop.

Israel halts football stadium construction in West

Israel has ordered construction work on an internationally financed football stadium being built for Palestinians in the occupied West Bank to be halted.

Palestinian municipal authorities in al-Bireh, near Ramallah, have been told they lack the correct permit to build.

This is because Israel has designated some of the plot for the planned stadium as under its exclusive control.

If Palestinian officials do not comply with the order, Israel could demolish the arena.

The stadium's development has been financed by the world football's governing body, Fifa, as well as France, Germany and Gulf states.

Palestinians have said that Israel's issuing of the stop-work order is unreasonable and politically motivated.

Israeli officials have said they are working with their Palestinian counterparts to resolve the issue.

There are some people on this board that simply do not like Israel, constantly side with the Palestinians regardless of what happens, and sneer at anything that is said in support of Israel.

The Allied powers should have known this was a bad idea when we formed the state of Israel in 1948.

Yes, except most of the modern world understands that historically, the Western powers screwed the Arabic world once they had helped expelled Ottoman rule in the region. The backing out of the McMahon-Hussein correspondence is the very beginning of the 'Western betrayal'.

It has become a lot like discussing Republican/Democrat politics. People rally around their side, and there is no possibility for legitimate discussion. For people supposedly interested in the plight of the Palestinians, it doesn't do anything to advance their cause.

Anti-Israel forces write everybody who doesn't want to eliminate Israel as members of the hasbara conspiracy. Pro-Israel forces write off people, including Israelis, who have legitimate concerns as anti-Semites. It's like discussing Palin with basso. Any hint that she is less than the savior of mankind results in a reversion to something like an autistic detachment from the world.

The situation just becomes more and more balkanized, and that balkanization is incredibly reinforcing. It is pretty well documented that Hamas missles were the difference in choosing Bibi from a more moderate alternative. And that would be just one wave in a 50 year tide. The neocons have long viewed Israel as the beach head of democracy and tolerance in the Middle East, but I think the reverse is happening. Hamas is infecting the Israelis and making them just like the others of the ME.
