The real consensus is that we'll get our PF only thru trades which is really 50-50 to happen. There's nothing we can expect from free agency right now..

For that trade to work you would have to start those players at 6 million per season, and that seems like a lot for such mediocre talent. I don't want to trade Howard away and get a worse contract back unless it is for a big time player, and Bonzi Wells just doesn't cut it.

Bonzi Wells is a big time player. Lest you forget he averaged 24 points and 12 rebounds per game against the Spurs strong defense and if notfor an overtime loss may have pulled the biggest upset of the playoffs. If that's not big time I don't what is.

Now he is also a head case I'll give you that. But do not confuse that with his raw talent. He would bring that mental toughness that is lacking on this team. People talk about Sura's toughness, Bonzi Wells makes Sura look like a boy scout. Oh and trading Howard for him is a pipe dream but I would gladly do it if it were possible, head case and all.

I actually like Jeffries' versatility and defensive skills, but he has no offensive game and looks like he will be accepting (or already has accepted) the qualifying offer from Washington. What Jeffries would bring is a guy who can defend the five against smaller lineups and the four in normal situations, while he is athletic enough to run the floor and can even slide to the three in some situations because he can handle the ball a bit. But he would bring us nothing offensively and, unless he mysteriously develops a jump shot, would just hang around the lane and clog up the paing for Yao.

One good series does not a big time player make, let us bring to mind Austin Croshere. Bonzi has all of the athletic ability in the world, but has never been able to put it together. His best season was four years ago when he averaged 17 and 6 for a so-so Portland team. He is not a good shooter, an average passer at best, and not an exceptionally good defender. There is a reason that the Kings are looking to play Kevin Martin and Francisco Garcia over him, and that reason is that Bonzi is not a great player, no matter what his physical attributes. Starting him a 6 million per year? I think I'll pass.

Howard is not the crappy player many of you believe him to be. Last year while Tmac and Yao were out he stepped up his game and upped his points and rebounds. He still has game and will be very good for us next season trust me. I'm happy with the additions we have made. Battier,Snyder,Novak,V-Span and Lucas will all help this team greatly. If we can add another solid player through FA or trade I'm for that aswell. Carroll Dawson has done a solid job this offseason and his work will shine through as the season begins soon. Also if we are looking to add another athletic/tall/quick gaurd the pacers just released Rawle Marshall he's 6-7 played for the Mavs last year he'd be a cheap addition. Get on it Mr. Dawson. Go Rockets!!!
