Ugh, watching the Rockets kinda sucks nowadays. I wish they would just be exciting...but they're not. T-Mac ain't the same, Ron Artest is just awkward, and Yao is anything but exciting. Only Brooks and Landry are ever spectacular.

I appreciate Almu's dedication and passion for the team. Of course he has a life, just like everyone of us, but throughout the day, we cannot deny that we think about our team and what we can do to make it better. That is why this site has been created: to make our minds meet and for us to contribute in making this team better. We should be with this team in their best and now their worst.

I will still have faith in this team even if we're last place in the league. I don't want anyone traded, just upgrade the C position (just like I said a before) and get a monster if you can.

I will still have faith in this team even if everyone is injured. Even if everyone is slow. Even if everyone is whining about each others' defense.

With the storm against us, we must hold our head up high and move on. I will go down with this ship!

keep believing my brothers. we have a lot of talent to at least get to the 2nd round. we haven't done that in so long so as long as we do that, i'm content with this year, considering what's going on with tracy.

    scola FTW

I can agree with you Almu. It's definitely depressing to watch sometimes. I think one of the more sobering facts is that by the end of next year, the Tmac and Yao Era is essentially over. Hell, the window for the championship with tmac is already down to a small sliver this year.

All I can say for the next star we get is have every doctor from every country verify 100% that his body will take the NBA beatings for at least 5 mins per season.

    OMG...what a homer JVG is.

He was on Sirius just now and said that the Rockets are the most dangerous team in the West because they probably have the most talent when healthy.

He predicted at least a 3rd seed and round 2 in the playoffs and then said we would be a very difficult out. He said that the main point in the playoffs is to have talent. And the Rockets have alot of it.

He says that his main concern is that T-Mac could be really, really hurt. He also said that Battier is really struggling coming back from that injury. But if all healthy, he thinks that they will give the Spurs all they can handle.

In addition, he said he wouldn't put it past the Rocks to make a run into the final with the injury to Bynum being a big key in how the West will fare.

Oh man. I love JVG. He is so the man! He knows how to make me feel alot better about the team just like that! :D

What a mental patient I am.

I have been to Patsy's (around 117?) when I was going to school at CU. But there are other small ones that are not on that list. I can't remember off hand but let me tell you this:

I just moved to Englewood, NJ a few months back. Really love it how cozy things are...very small town...but there is a deli there that I found walking around with my wife where the pizza guy there was like pizza champion or something like that all over the USA!

And man, THAT WAS THE BEST PIZZA I EVER, EVER, EVER HAD! Freakin fresh and just right taste of like coal or "smokey" taste.

    THE BOMB!

Tinman, do you live in the NYC area? I can get you all the info on it. Also, if you like Mexican food or a steakhouse, I know some GREAT places in NYC. Some are famous. But some are not. :D

I live in Texas, but I might plan a trip to NYC this year. I know Basso is there too.

I've been addicted to Travel Channel and Food Network lately.

Hey almu, I was a legend on Full Court Press on Sirius. I've been trying to get into the B-team with Bill Pidto and Bruce Murray. I still talk to Yam and Dee Brown and on occasion, Kenny will hit me back on a e-mail.

When I used to drive 48 states, I used to be in 5 burroughs so much, the called me Big Tex. There was a sub shop close to where all the ho's used to stroll in hunts point in the bronx. Overrall, some of the places that are known for specific foods are overrated. I've been to every state, almost every town seemingly in america. Sorry for the rant.

I just want the Rox to get it right. I really don't like how a lot of decisions are based on business sense vs winning basketball sense. Maybe when people stop showing up, les will sell the team to a person that is consummed by winning a ring.

I think that everyone should be glad that this team is not going to fall to the depths of the 1982-83 Rockets recordwise. During that season, if the internet was alive like it is today, and there was such an internet fan forum then like what we have now, I would expect to see lots and lots of threads of negativity concerning the Rockets, especially after Moses Malone was traded to Philadelphia.

    Leebigez, you are right.

Alot of "it" places are overrated. Its the places that you find just walking around a city and looking through the window of a restaurant and you go "Hmm...never heard of this place. Looks like a good place. Lets eat!" that are the ones that make you appreciate excellent food. Never made a list or that sometimes corny ZAGAT whachamacallit!

And the hoes in Hunts point? Didn't Guiliani ban Hoedom back in the days? :D

Tired indeed. If I had any hair, I would be either gray or bald!

And got your sig. But you should still call us 1997ers. It brings back memories of LHutz. :D

of course we will make it back, just a matter of finances and time, playing a short trip to Vietnam for May this year, then will start the saving for another US trip, kinda think it also better to wait till smeg jnr is 4/5ish years old and then will go nuts for disneyworld etc

still waiting for someone from the bbs to come visit me though :p

speaking of 99ers or 97ers, i think my acheivement of visiting houston on my honeymoon for the downunder cuttino club must rank up there for all time

memories are great and certainly can offset to some degree the current team, i love Yao and what he could be with the right team and commitment around him, and I will always love the rockets, but guess the current season depression which probably commulative from the multiple Yao and Girls name injuries has just jaded me alot, that plus a daughter, a new job and coaching a state team and senior team mean my depression/jadedness has just caused me to pay less attention, i try to download the games and then end up skim watching them or just the highlights, my love my the rockets probably also took a big hit with the heart induced mobley retirement, and for me I'm still confused, befuddled and angry as to why JVG is still not coaching although blessed as i get to hear him regularly on the espn nba games we get here, did you happen to catch a recent classic from him in the pistons/cavs superbowl game, he said him and jackson and any of there play by play guys could take Obama and 2 his guys in a game of 3on3 .... great stuff Jeff

i guess in short distance has allowed me to detach a tad and reduce the impact of the depression, i just want a team that plays hard, and unselfish team ball, and for whatever reason the current team just doesn't fit together anymore and for me this just seems to get forgotten once they win a single game, the parts just don't fit to one give them a shot at a title but more importantly draw me in more

    speak to you soon
