And as far as "come playoff time we're gonna eat crow" posters.. I hope he does rise to the occasion playoff time and plays hard, but the points being made in this thread will still be valid and in fact proven. Tracy can be TMac when he wants to be. Why not give it your all any time your on the basketball court?

wait, who blamed him for sitting out? 90% of this board was happy he was sitting out. Yes, theyre human beings...thats why he should sit out until he's feeling better. Thank you for supporting my point...

The guy is something else. he says he'll be out 3 weeks. he comes back in one week....and im still baffled about how he refused the MRI?

Oh yeah. I forgot about that. I'd much rather have him take it to the bakset, and get it blocked than shoot the jumper (even if it wouldve went in)

Someone please tell me this is a joke. That is a big, fat lie, as is DD's claim that T-Mac didn't rehab after his surgery. You were all going on nonstop about how McGrady was a weakling and a female body part because he wouldn't be like Ron Ron and suck up and play.

This is pathetic. Rockets fans manufacturing outright lies just to bash their own player.

Is it a lie that the doctors said he needed to play through it to make the knee stronger? The TMac decides to sit three weeks? Stop being a one player fan and be a Houston Rocket fan. His heart, work ethic, and determination have come to question with each team he has been on, and each year he plays. There is a reason for this.

the silver lining of all this is that when Tmac went out like a wuss, it was really cool to see our team that was on the floor. five warriors out there scrapping and playing their hearts out to win a game with their most talented teammate sitting out. it showed the mental toughness, heart, and never-back-down attitude that we've been missing for so long.

DD, I have been saying from the start of the season that the poor guy needs to get some help from a sports psychologist. He is mentally weak period. You cannot win 4 playoff series with your best player being this weak, it ain't going to happen. If the rockets have to cut him loose for some lesser players then maybe thats the route they might finally have to take. This whole thing has gotten so old.

I love it when rookies try to justify themselves by letting us know that they've really been here for years. Right. It was only recently that you decided to join (which takes all of about a minute) and now you're just a typing banshee.

That said, I find myself more and more apathetic towards sports these days. These players simply don't seem to have the heart their predecessors had. And it becomes less and less interesting as the years go by.

You know what is bad, is when people apologize so much for a player and ignore the truth.

Read the articles about how the doctors told Tmac to play and how the organization was worried Tmac would not do his rehab because he has not done it in the past.

You call it what you want, lower expectations, this same scenario happened in Orlando, and no amount of burying your head in the sand will change it.

Anyone want to bet that next year....in a contract year, TMac miraculously gets better?

    I thought not.

    1. DaDakota claims that McGrady did not do his rehab prior to the preseason. This is about as categorically false as it gets. I dare you, DaDakota, to prove otherwise.
    2. T-Mac decided to sit because he just was not physically able to play well enough to help the team on the floor. There is no point in "playing through the pain" if it is going to end up costing your team wins. While he was out, all of you were piling on him and calling him names because he wouldn't "man up" and play through the pain.
    3. McGrady didn't merely "sit out", he worked very hard to rehab while he was out and according to Dave Macha, put in an incredible effort. As a result, he was able to return to the court ahead of schedule.
    4. You are now blaming him for trying to play through the pain instead of sitting out.

Like I said, either you are all suffering from chronic amnesia, or you are just being irrational in your quest to keep the "blame T-Mac" bandwagon going. As usual, the bandwagon will probably suffer another busted tire by this weekend or next week, and you armchair whiners will be nowhere to be found once again.

I have been lurking this website for years. Believe me or not doesn't really make a difference. I only recently decided to join because I only recently got a job where I will be getting paid enough in the near future to contribute to the board. (20 years old, now coaching high school basketball) I didn't feel right becoming a member until I could contribute some money which I will be able to do as soon as our basketball season is over. And I agree, as far as the players seeming to have less heart with each passing year.

There is a big difference between playing through the pain and showing no effort on the basketball court. TMac might be playing through pain right now, but the effort he is showing is a complete joke.

    Welcome aboard Joker.

And in College ball they care more than in pro ball, at least in some instances.

There are some pro players that put forth effort every night, Tmac is just not one of them.

I'm embarrassed to call Mcgrady a Houston Rocket!

He doesn't even fit in with this team, he's a odd ball. I have players like Battier, Artest, Scola, Landry, Brooks who "Hustle" and leave on the floor game in and game out. Then you have Tracy who will pull himself out of a "one point" game in the 4th qrt. He seems to just laugh it off and acts like it just doesn't matter it's only the regular season. Like he's has a good history in the playoffs or something.

It's very disheartening to say this, but Mcgrady hasn't worked hard enough to be call a superstar, all-star or even win a championship. He doesn't deserve to win a championship and is giving the Rockets a bad name.

Jordan earned his, Hakeem earned his, D.wade, Kobe, Shaq, K. Garrnett, they all earned theirs. Tracy wants it to be easy, Tracy just wants it to come to him. Tracy says it's on me? That's right! and you just don't deserve one! Embarrssing! How would you like a one way ticket back to Orlando?

I couldn't care less if McGrady gets a triple double in one quarter, if he hides from the Lebrons, and Kobes of the NBA, not to mention hiding from the shadow of his former self. I want our team to win championships not record triple doubles. I cannot believe that his recent triple double is being cited for a defense of last night. There is no defense for being a coward on the basketball floor.

Give these guys a break, please.

Cavs stop Rockets: 'Losing with dignity' Ron Ron style

“The Rockets were done. They had played their fourth game in five nights, all with travel. They packed the usual aches and pains with them for the trip. (Shane Battier and Tracy McGrady swell so badly on the longer flights, they have been wearing these goofy spandex things that look as if stolen from Usain Bolt and still, they can barely walk when the flights land.) ”

people say like that's very easy. in the playoffs, you don't play back to backs or have 4 games in 5 nights. you're guaranteed a day off. but with the tv schedule, sometimes you have 2 days off. and we know tracy's stats this year with rest.

again, sometimes his body won't cooperate. sure it makes him look like a scrub and it's frustrating but it is what it is. let's see hwo he plays v. the hornets and jazz. if he plays well again, it HAS to be the 4th game in 5 nights.

Why does it HAVE to be that, it could be that he just didn't have the heart to play through the pain.

It doesn't HAVE to be anything, it could be a lot of different things, let's not forget he quit on Orlando and admitted it. He lied about his back when he was dealing with the Orlando pregnancy.

Tmac is not all that truthful.
