I think a lot of it has to do with Yao being a national hero. As long as the Rockets don't meet expectations Tmac will be the target. The blame will never be placed on Yao just like during the playoffs. Tmac isn't perfect but he takes more criticism because of this factor IMO.
i don't disagree with you that tracy's effort is not consistent every game. but he does try in every game (just not that every game is his last). but like i said, we can all nitpick every player if we all wanted to. kobe does that at least 1-2 times a game if you follow lakers game enough.
I'm a little in shock that anybody who watches the games on a regular basis can possibly try and say tmac is a warrior. When I think of Garnett, Pierce, Kobe, Duncan, LJames, Nash and countless players with less abilty, when the going gets tough, they put out extra effort. tmac for what ever reason you want to give doesn't give you the effort of a superstar. IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH PRODUCTION....... ITS EFFORT. His effort level has always been inconsistent. If his effort came anywhere near his abilities, he'd be one awesome player. Fact is his effort level is on a constant roller coaster ride. You never know if he's going to bring it or not. The guys I mentioned above, you never ever think they are dogging it. If anything they have their bad games also but you never question their effort. Nobody is questioning tmac's ability, but quite a few are now questioning his heart and effort. And that includes DIEHARD ROCKET FANS AND ME.
look at how LBJ imposes his will and demands triple team at one end and look at how tmac pass back a break away fast break is just pathetic that both of these guys earn roughly the same amount of salary from their teams
*cough* The guy needs to sit on the bench, Rick Adelman needs to grow a pair of balls and get in McGrady's head. Show some effort!
he is flat out terrible today, if 2 days rest can't even make him play a bit better, i think he should just take the season off and come back next year.
I am in...... Man, just bench this sorryass....I cant watch him playing like that ,believing that he was supposed to make a difference u 2nd round virgin.....i am done with you. injury , sore here and there...whatever , i wont buy that no more.......GDI
he just shot a mid range jump shot, and immediately started running down court. He could of very easily gotten the rebound because his man wasn't boxing out and the ball missed directly back towards him. The effort is a joke.
no but you can follow your shot...... Not jog back. It's the point's job to get back during/after a shot.
Thats JVG's teachings still instilled in TMAC....run back for defense right away!!! Obviously he wasn't being lazy because he ran back down the court rather than just leisurely get there.
just to make it interesting - and bug the SF3 haters how many times did Francis follow those shots with a killer Slam that got the crowd HYPE! Rocket River
At this point you can't blame anyone who is frustrated with his play. He makes it so hard on himself. He basically draws the double team to him.
His shots were off tonight, but he did get people alot of open looks which were missed. Got to the FT line often and hit alot of them. More dissapointed with Alston...
If Yao made only 2 shots out of 11, then for sure he will be targeted too. A national hero also need stats to back it up.
