what were the types of surgeries each player had performed on them, and what were the specific timelines for rehab and recovery?
Complete and utter BS. None of these guys had a knee surgery. Battier sat out 15 games while T-Mac was out there busting his chops so that the team could get through a rough opening schedule. And Battier was absolutely horrible on Tuesday night -- as bad as McGrady looked, Battier's performance was even worse -- both on offense and on defense. At least McGrady managed to pick up six assists despite his physical struggles. Both of these guys were suffering the effects of the schedule -- according to the Chronicle writer who was on the plane with them, they swelled up so badly on the flight that when they landed they could barely walk.
talking common sense and facts with these guys, c'mon you know better. to respond to these guys, you gotta bring passion and heart, and post recklessly about passion and heart.
or you can be lazy and ignore the post and forum entirely similar to how a superstar ignores his teamates but at the same time carries them when / if he feels like it.
Yes, and Yao, alston and battier all had surgery prior to the start of the season... Actually, battier had the same surgery that tmac had in May. I don't see him ever showing a lack of effort... Didn't tmac have the same type of surgery this off season? Tmac lovers please, just stop with the injury excuse anymore. Its getting redundant. http://www.insidehoops.com/battier-alston-surgery-050908.shtml Houston Rockets forward Shane Battier and guard Rafer Alston each underwent successful surgical procedures by Rockets Team Physician Tom Clanton on Friday at Memorial Hermann--Texas Medical Center. Battier underwent arthroscopic surgery in order to remove bone spurs in his left ankle. Alston’s surgery involved repairing ligament and tendon damage in his right ankle.
Agreed. T-mac wasn't ready to play in the beginning of the season (even though he should have been), but still went out and played to help the team. But you messed up when you tried to justify T-Mac's performance by comparing it to Battier. Battier is a role player not the star player, and by saying atleast T-Mac got six assists is just ridiculous. Those two should never be compared in the same sentence, unless we're talking about team defense.
when they should be put in the same sentence? when the sentence is about EFFORT. nobody can tell me that tmac puts more effort in than battier.
it's not a coincidence that the first bad game since he has returned is on a 4th game in 5 nights. if he was so lazy, why didn't he choose the wolves game to suck? or any other game? but the 4th game in 5 nights. where shane battier, the consummate professional, was also making fatigue as an excuse. coincidence right? lazy right?
Edit: My opinion is based on what I observe, not just on a preconception. The evidence was in the video and in his own words when asked about the difference in the rehabs.
Who's talking about performance? If you read the OP's thread, he's talking about EFFORT. Battier played with effort, Tmac did not... Battier had anthroscopic ankle surgery. And since when does having a knee surgery take precedence over surgery of other body parts? The simple fact is they both had anthroscopic surgery, and those do not take long to heal. Battier just had an accident when rehabing that caused him to aggregate his ankle injury, otherwise he would've been fine to start the season.
effort.. is there any question at all who puts in more effort between tmac and battier? I am really beginning to wonder whether this is even debatable?
Well I agree with the reasoning behind your post. Can't say I'm getting to witness it since I can't see the games but the basic fact boils down to what these other people have said themselves and that is if you aren't healthy enough to help the team you should sit on the bench. Oh, and I agree about the lurking.... one post of varying opinion and it turns into an OMGWTFBBQ. This place has gotten as bad as every other board in that fact.
Tmac plain and simple is damaged goods. He was one of the best and most talented player in the NBA, but those times are gone forever. He will help the team some nights and some nights he will play like crap. This is what a fading star player do. He is no longer a superstar, just slowly fading away . To all the Tmac supporter with high hope, you will feel cheated at the end. I am sad to say Tmac will never be Tmac in his Orlando and early Rockets years.
I also think tracy is faking the injuries to take breaks during the season. And I noticed that it happens in the early part of the season. When a star goes down tracy is back the next game and putting big numbers if needed to keep the team winning. Big numbers depend on how much talent we have on the team. Since we have talent he don't need to put much effort out. All tracy wants to do is sit back in the weeds and come out only when necessary.
DD, I don't think Tracy is quiting on Rockets especially in the season where they can really win it all...
The difference is this: You're supposed to take that 3. If you're wide open in the corner (and no one is wide open under the basket), you have to take that three. What TSlack did was absolutely horrible. 1. He didn't hustle. 2. He made a horrible decision to try to cover up the fact that he didn't hustle by shooting when the defense was already back. It is possessions like these that lose basketball games. TJack is one of the biggest offenders on the Rockets for making stupid decisions.
