Grant Hill gets paid 2 Mil for the Suns. He does not get superstar money. If Tracy got paid 2 Mil, I wouldn't complain. And, Yes, if Grant Hill was getting paid superstar money, fans should expect superstar production. Orlando fans wanted to trade Grant Hill when he was injured... but who wouldve taken that contract? We should trade TMAC before it gets to that point.
Not to mention that Kobe played more immediately than him I think He and Kobe will be looked upon like Jordan and Barkey Jordan did what it took . .. Barkley didn't Rocket River
Maybe, but Barkley was a heck of a lot better than Tmac and played a lot harder and with injuries more often. TMac could go down as the most talented, softest player in league history. DD
and yes, people have the same responses to the same injuries. at least both kobe and tracy agree on one thing and this was what kobe said after his surgery: "We just have to play it by ear," he said. "The most important thing is to get all the strength in my leg back. You don't want to rush it." when tracy gets that strength back, he'll be fine. he's still working on it. at least he has been mroe consistent with the rest. that's the only thing left: strength. it's frustrating, but gotta stay patient.
He could have worked on it all summer and had his strength back already, but he was LAZY and didn't do the work, skipped preseason, then tried to turn it on in the regular season, and the knee went..."Uh, hold on there pal"..... TMac didn't do the work, the team is suffering because of it....and you can continue to make excuses for his laziness but don't be surprised that a good number of fans can see through the facade, and call him out on it. TMac should be at full strength in his knee by now...but he isn't because he didn't rehab it correctly, and the team suffers, does that sound like a dedicated guy to you? It has been 7 months since he had MINOR arthoscopic surgery.....Brandon Roy had it in August.....ah...never mind...you will just say...everyone responds differently. Yes that is true, especially Tmac, who will pout, whine, sulk and worry himself silly...you know why? Becuase he is a mental midget. DD
barkley was a better player than tracy. so your point is moot. barkley was just as hard of a worker as jordan (or else he woudl have been out of the L soon b/c he was an eating machine). winning made that comparison in jordan's favor a little bit easier. look, it's obvious fans are frustrated with tracy. but he's not gonna be traded. i know he's gonna dominate for us when it counts (playoffs). one bad game is not gonna erase 6 consistent games (21, 7, 7) since he has returned. he has played well and within the offense and has done a great job. but others, bash away.
tracy will always have value. he just put up 21, 7, 7 in the 6 games he came back before this one. and his #s when he has at least a day of rest shows how good he still is. steve can't even get on the court. but his contract is too big and like i said in the other thread, the lakers are the only team who will absorb his contract. do you want to get rid of tracy just to get rid of him and get a lamar odom type of player back? if you do, then that's the trade. or detroit just might trade iverson for him (b/c ai has been a disaster)
the everyone responds differently argument only goes so far. Lets just look at the three players you mentioned: 1: Kobe 2: Roy 3: T-mac Who takes the longest to heal? it just happens to be the one who has the reputation being labled as lazy, heartless, etc. Coincidence, maybe. It just poses doubt once you see one person of the that group take significantly more plays off and is a self-admitted quitter earlier in his career. The only silver-lining, is when he starts playing and is healthy, we are damn close to unbeatable. Wait, maybe thats not a silver-lining.
i can't comment on it b/c i don't know what he did in the offseason. but the good thing for me is that all it lacks is strength (it's not a new injury). and eventually the day will come when that strength comes back. so that's why i'm not giving up on him b/c when that strength does return, he's gonna be a hell of a player. he was just averaging 21, 7, 7 just now (and commentators like the wolves said it's amazing how he's doing this on one leg). when he gets 2 legs under him and he still sucks, then yes, i'm wrong.
Tmac is past his prime, to where he can't do what he used to do every night. Before, he was the focal point of our offense, he attacked the rim, and made plays. He can't do all of that anymore. He can still pass very good and if his shot is on, he can give us some scoring. But we can't expect Tmac to play the way he did in 06-07 or for stretches of last year. Those days are over. He's not going to dunk on people the way he did when he first came here. Injuries have taken its toll on Tmac. He's basically played his entire career with a bad back, and now his knee is starting to be an issue, which an athletic player's worst nightmare. Without his explosiveness, Tmac is a big passing guard who can shoot over most shooting guards, but his driving abilities and finishing abilities are diminishing. Its happened to the best of players. Larry Bird was a shell of his former self by the time he retired simply because of injuries. Clyde Drexler by his 13th year started declining. Barkley in his 12th, Hakeem in his 14th. Grant Hill by his 7th season at age 29. It happens. Tmac is in his 12th year and he's declining at an alarming rate. The few players who stay healthy can play great until they are old, such as Magic, Jordan, Kareem, Bill Russell, Karl Malone, John Stockton, and Tim Duncan. Its all about health. Some players just have bad luck with that. Nobody ever questioned Hakeem's work ethic but he just had bad injuries late in his career. Get over it, we only have him under contract for one year. He's still got a few good games left in him and I know he can step it up atleast for the Playoffs for the next 2 seasons. After that, we'll either resign him for cheap, don't resign him, or he'll retire. Simple as that.
T_Mac1, I think it goes much further than the 4th game in five nights thing. You can apologize and make excuses for Tracy to nauseum, but this has gotten so old. Do you honestly think that the rockets can win an NBA championship with someone who is physically and mentally weak as T-Mac currently is? Would you pin your hopes on winning a championship with T-Mac. I don't care about playoff stats anymore, I want effort and intensity.
No one is asking for the Orlando TMac.... We all know that that Tracy is no longer there. But what fans do ask for and should ask for is effort. 100 percent effort day in and day out.
I'm still waiting for you to back up your lies about McGrady, DaDakota. You know -- the one where you claimed that he did not rehab his knee after surgery like he was supposed to. Or the latest lie -- that he feigned an injury previously because he was trying to cover up a pregnancy situation. Are you going to keep on throwing as much mud as possible hoping some sticks, or are you going to back up your false claims?
T-Mac apologists are amusing. Don't bother going back and forth with them, they need to realize on their own that McGrady is pissing on the fans with his "when I'm feeling like it" effort. Evan
Unfortunately, I went thru this realization a couple years ago, and I posted on this board as I went through it. pretty traumatizing. I will say though, seeing Yao, and now Artest bust there ass out there somewhat makes up for T-mac's play
You can't expect to throw out lies and not get called out, DD. They are not facts, they are lies. Prove them if you can.
