I'm also a Rockets fan, but give T-Mac a break. Let's start this discussion again after he played the NBA finals ...
wow you make it so "easy" to play through the pain. you make it so "easy" that the knee pain is easily tolerable. and once again, fans like you are "guessing" things about what tmac is doing again. it's unbelievable. 1) he did admit he quit in orlando so that means he rarely lies about anything. he'll be truthful about it. but hey, don't stick with him then. i'm fine with fans being done with tracy. i'm not gonna judge a 4th game in 5 nights as a sign that he's done. i still remember what he did for us in the playoffs last yr when he had little help, everybody counted us out, and he played on 2 injuries that required surgery and dominated. when that tracy helps us win in the playoffs, i hope every fan just stay the same and stick a fork in him like they do now.
Yeah, telling the truth about a player is apparently bad around here, don't want to shatter the fanboys illusions. DD
"It's simple, we trade T-Mac." It's not that simple though. If we trade T-Mac now, we don't get good value in return and we get saddled with longer contracts. It's better to let Tracy's contract run out and let him go as FA while we set our sights on LeBron (unlikely, but who knows), D-Wade, and Joe Johnson. Maybe we could wait around for Kevin Durant in 2011.
tracy's single digit used to be every other game before he rested. this is his first disappearance act (single digit scoring) after six solid double digit scoring games. again, it's not a coincidence. tracy looked BAD last night physically. that fast break should tell you a lot.
Why do people make so many excuses for TMAC. He gets paid to be a superstar, and he puts up scrub numbers. You guys use his injury as an excuse even more than he does. TMAC plays with zero heart. Trade him before he's worth completely nothing.
he signed that contract when he WAS a superstar. he's no longer a superstar (in the reg. season anyways). until you get that fact through your head, you'll feel better. and once again, no "zero heart" card
that is the problem with tracy the past couple years, whether its a weak mentality or serious limitation by injury, he starts playing hard in the last 20-25 games of the regular season, and in the playoffs. The issue with this is that still team is still searching for its identity, and once they find it..they are going to need more than 20-25 games to perfect it and make a serious run towards the finals. Cleavland, LA, Boston, are playing their ass majority of the nights with the occasional let down. Boston knows their identity, I believe LA does for the most part as well. Cleavland is pretty close.
um.. no. did you check his last month before teh playoffs last yr? he was AWFUL. he would have played teh same way v. utah had he not take painkilling injections 2x in that series. so another myth dismissed.
So are you saying that the Rockets and fans should not have expected him to perform like a superstar for the duration of his contract? Kobe is a year older, been in the league longer, has more games under his belt (reg. season and playoffs), and is still the best player in the game. Tmac is not even half Kobe at this point.
I wonder what flavor will they be this year First-Round-Exit-Flavored or the First-Round-Exit-Flavored-with-the-40-point-loss-at-home-while-he-laughs-on-the-bench-flavored-mashmellows Rocket River
Yeah, like maybe he should actually warm the knee up before games and after halves instead of sitting on the bench. DD
should fans expect grant hill to perform to superstar level when he was with the magic or now when he still gets paid like a superstar? kobe DOES NOT HAVE MAJOR INJURIES to his back, knee... parts of the body that would hinder his performance. he has a freakin' FINGER injury that isn't even on his shooting hand. injuries are part of the game and tracy's a victim of that. you think tracy doesn't want to play like he used to? who wouldn't? getting all the national attention, love, tv highlights, adoration of fans... unless tracy is crazy. he's an injury-prone player and he's paying for it. he can only dominate in stretches and we're all hoping that will be the playoffs + parts of the reg. season. he's no longer a superstar (a superstar is someone who's consistent over 82 games and he's not that)
Just to set the Record straight, Kobe had the EXACT SAME SURGERY on his knee as TMAC, last July, and played 82 games last year and the playoffs. Carry on. DD
oh really, after one playoff series last yr, he was top 5 in scoring, assists, PER in the L and averaged near a triple double. statistically he was a superstar and was the best player in that series.
last month does not equal 25 games. Other than the first month of the season, he posted his best numbers in March. Which is almost exactly 25 games before seasons end. http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/gamelog?playerId=532&year=2008. That is besides my point though. This year or next is probably his only chance to make a serious run at the title. He is not going to get there by "turning it on" in the playoffs.
