What can I say….. This year’s edition of the Rockets have been an overwhelming disappointment in the play-ooopps. A non-existent, good for choking bench except maybe Mutombo who cannot get game time in the biggest game in 10 years. You’d think he could at least have a shot at slowing Boozer down given Yao’s evident struggles. WTF!!!! Three starters who are offensive liabilities particularly a pg who may be a low TO guys but is a revolving door on defense and an absolute waiting disaster when open. Les and management If you trot the same roster including the coach around Yao and T-mac in 2007-08, don’t expect me to buy “The Rockets will be competing for the championship” BS!!!! This team will become like Minnesota, competitive, borderline play-ooopps material and will be bounced in the 1st round every time. This was our best chance in 12 years to start rebuilding the house that Hakeem and co established. You know, get some momentum going and have a legit shot at the title. Heck even if we lost to GS in the 2nd round, I would have been very proud of the guys. The boost to morale and spirit of the team would have been indescribable and would have given us all optimism for the future. Now it’s another soul searching off-season. We need you guys to do your bit for the team: An offensive minded coach who can make all 5 guys on the floor accountable for sharing the scoring load and execute plays and not rely on jump shots regardless if they are superstars or not. A coach who will actually develop and play the bench and the rookies. A coach who can be aware that when he is beat, he is prepared to snatch something from left field, throw it in the game and see if it works. A coach who will bring fresh ideas to a very predictable and stagnant offense wrt to deficient roster. A quality PG who is everything that Rafer is not. A quality PF in the Otis Thorpe mold. I mean no offense to Morey and CD but if Jerry West is available I would bring him in the front office in some capacity. The front office needs an infusion of new perspective, talent and experience. Get ballers on the bench who cannot be exploited by the opposition because they are one dimensional or have a height/quickness/athleticism disadvantage. This series has left a bad, bad taste in my mouth. Let the galaxy burn!
What we need is an offensive minded coach. I really do believe that battier could actually be our 3rd scorer if he was given more responsibility then to just sit out on the wing and shoot 3 ptrs.
