He moves with the wind rather than being a reformer when this country desperately needs one when you examine economic trends over the past half century(significant rise in real median household debt as an example). He also has history of bad decision making such as voting for the Iraq War.

He isn't vile. He isn't racist. He also is willing to listen to underprivileged communties so yes he's obviously world's apart from Trump but he isn't the ideal candidate for many who also don't like Trump.

Live your life. Ignore politics as a solution for humanity. Make a difference in your life and with those you come into contact with.

I'm not a fan of centrist politics (as they are in America). I support soc dem & green politics. Am very supportive of unions, and would disagree that it's his most controversial politics lol.

    "He moves with the wind"

A politician that does not respond to changing conditions and constituent opinion would not be an elected official I would want. That being said, Mr. Biden has a pretty consistent record for over 40 years.

As a 'progressive' I realize you need to walk before you can run. Elect Biden and take the Senate and I think you would see a lot of progressive initiatives come out of the House. And I'm pretty sure Mr. Biden would sign any that got through the Senate.

But where you need to be thinking 'progressive' is the 4,000 political appointments and bureaucrats that actually enforce policy. Look at Trumps minions changing every rule, regulation and enforcement procedure they can to render America to corporate fascism of more pollution, greater banking risks, a privatized postal service, underfunded social mandates etc. That's where the progressive rubber will meet the road and there are lots of young democrats out there that will take up the cause when they see it's doable.

I'm also a white male, also grew up in a black and latino neighborhood. I also drank too much last night, but didn't post on the bbs after. Didn't get beat up much for being white as a kid. But usually picked last in street ball games, which hurt my feelings. Anyway, if one is going to do anything to make the world a better place, it won't be with your vote, which is vanishingly small, but with the people you interact with everyday.

I mean he voted for the Iraq War while he was chair of the Senate Foreign relations committee and voted to repeal Glass-Steagall. These are legitimate criticisms of Biden and in a normal election season when dumb Hitler isn't running on the other ticket, these would be significant flaws. Biden's legislative history before Obama was basically Romney lite.

Like I said before, Biden is the guy now and I'm voting for him but I hope the proggesive wing of the Democrat party checks him routinely.

Wtf does that have to do with his reaction to the O.P.. I dont need you to tell me who has helped me especially when it has nothing to do with what i wrote.

I don't doubt Deckard has done the right thing in helping blacks achieve equal status but it doesn't give him the right to preach at everyone. In regards to my reaction Deckard's post in his disagreements with me on black issues he feels the need to preach to me on what blacks have suffered as if im not black and have not listened to elders who would be twice his age now give me their first hand experiences.

Thats not about race its about said poster

So what happens when 9 out of 10 black people disagree with you? Who's black voices are more important when there are contradictory narratives?

I'm not going to read a wiki page now. Use your own words proffessor.

And so we are clear on my premise:
The GOP and the right love fronting the small percentage of African Americans in this country that tout their agenda to create an appearance that the black community supports their causes. My point is this. Why does the GOP only hear the 10% of Black Americans while ignoring the 90% and their views while dismissing them as "political slaves" implying they can't think for themselves?

Marry a non-white or adopt a non-white and you'll be coo, but don't do the Woody Allen. You're welcome, fam.

That's awesome. I guess I'm not basically educated. Now that you understand my premise, if you desire you can explain in your own words what message you were trying to express with the link. As a proffessor I'm assuming you want your students to not just cite links without context or elaboration on why the link is relevant to expressing their point.

47 years in office, including 8 as VP - what exactly has he done specifically done to directly help the Black communities?

Versus Trump who has put in policies and efforts to directly help the black communities and the American people as a whole.
    • Guaranteed funding for 10 years for HBCU's - what stopped the 1st Black President from doing this?
    • Supports School Choice for Black communities to get access to better education - Democrats continue to shut this down.
    • Record low unemployment for Black Americans
    • Criminal Justice Reform Law - shorter sentences and earlier releases for thousands of non-violent offenders in federal prisons,
    • Ended incarceration policies that directly affect the Black communities.
      • Let's not forget that Biden was a big part introducing the Mass Incarceration policy to begin with.
    • Created Opportunity Zones to drive investments into Black communities.
    • Introduced Law Enforcement reform - Democrats completely shut it down without even a debate/discussion.
      • Reform included non-lethal restraint and more de-escalation trainings
Trump comes off as an a-hole, but what he's done for the Black communities and American citizens as a whole continues to get swept under the rug by MSM and Democrats because he hurts people's feelings.

Nah, his campaign committee just pushes that narrative with gross exaggeration like everything else they claim.
