I'll take that challenge. A photo of the same subject, same time, same location, etc., on a phone and on the 60's era 6x6 or 35mm should be the controlled variable. Please be my guest. I'll be waiting here for the samples.
since you have multiple bodies by chance would you have an extra 85mm 1.8 you're willing to part with? i've been eyeing this lens for awhile. don't want to pay retail for a new one though.
Did you really post 300 pixel pictures to show how superior one camera is on another? What's the back story to said pictures? What were the settings on the cameras? Etc. All you did was Google buddy, you haven't even held a Lumia 1020. In fact, the site you got those images from, dpreview from the looks of it has a TON of praise for the 1020. http://www.dpreview.com/search/?query=lumia 1020&terms=lumia 1020 Here are some snippets of their review... http://connect.dpreview.com/post/5234892048/nokia-lumia-1020-camera-review Overall they love the camera and gave it an 8.8 out of 10. In fact, their biggest complaints about sluggish camera app were fixed months ago with a software update. I'll completely stand by my claim that for the vast majority of people, a camera as powerful as that of the Lumia 1020 is plenty of horsepower.
Ah, didn't realize they were that high. I could've sworn I saw a few deals for the M1 for closer to $400 on SlickDeals though. M2 is still relatively new I guess. I'd probably recommend the M1 for anyone looking to get one unless they want WiFi built-in, a hot shoe, and screen tilt.
Wait, if I am providing proof of what I know to be true, what do I get out of it? When I take a picture of something with a LEICA SUMMILUX 35mm f/1.4 lens on a Leica M3 body and compare it to a iPhone 5c what do YOU think will happen?
You've offered to show the differences to several people now, but you don't actually follow through with the exception of some Googling apparently. Your comparisons are also unrealistic for the average consumer.
Sorry SuperShill, but what you said is yet it cannot even best a Canon 5x. Besides both showing 100% crops, what other settings matter to prove this is false? The answer is "none". Your claim is fine, the iPhone 4 was great for most morons. No need to junk up the thread with your SuperShilling though, the OP wants a quality camera for his wife. Camera phone won't cut it. Umm I followed through to show that entire digital zoom argument you made was BS. LOL.
How to Choose a Long Range Zoom point and shoot camera) I know it's a bit late, but it covers good points for future purchases. I don't have that lens. I have a couple of the cheaper kit lenses and some primes, but not the 85 1.8. That IS definitely a sweet lens. Take the pictures. Show us those pictures as your proof. I'm being serious, I want to see them.
They stopped processing Kodachrome. Am I allowed to use any film? Do you know anything about film at all?
