Do you think the execs at Fox have listened to the lyrics of Jay Z's "Empire State of Mind" that is supposed to be performed live on Fox before Game 2 of Yankees Phillies? As far as the music/performance aspect, I can take it or leave it. I guess what I am getting at is, I can't imagine very many New Yorkers are going to view this as a positive "Opus" about their city. I'm sure Jay Z will tone down some of the lyrics, but in general it seemed kind of depressing. http://www.metrolyrics.com/empire-state-of-mind-lyrics-jayz.html
I dont see why its not a positive for the city? Obviously, he wont say the N word in the song, but the lyrics are fine, imo. Pretty good, actually.
Seriously, what's wrong with- "Mommy took a bus trip, now she got her bust out, Everybody ride her, just like a bus route." It's wickity wickity wack!
"Sittin courtside Knicks and Nets give me highfives... I be spiked out (referring to Spike Lee), I can trip a referee" "I made the Yankee hat more famous than a Yankee can" Dude is just reppin his city man. Its all good.
that's one of the hottest joints on airplay right now... i don't see how that is bad for the NY... rappers overly exaggerate lyrics in their rhymes all the time.. the sinatra reference made me chuckle
WTF (why the eff) do you open a thread with such title? I thought this was going to be about you being a member of an organization named "PIH". THREAD TITLE FAIL. C'mon, now, make the title be something about the effin' content.
