No knee-jerk, just thinking out loud here: what if the season goes really bad and an opportunity presents itself, you think Morey would trade either star player away for another one that would be better for whatever reason?

If Harden or Howard were traded this season no star player would sign here again while Morey is GM.

no after all the trouble signing them... no way...they are already the best in their position and are irreplaceable... you can change coach, role players, trainers but not these 2

There are a dozen players i would trade Harden for. Paul George being near the top of the list.

This is Morey we are talking about.. Nothing is set in stone

The package would have to be amazing.. Wiggins (imagine the team he could build with a superstar on a rookie contract)/Lebron level amazing

IF Morey were to trade one of them (which is highly doubtful), I suspect Morey would trade Howard over Harden for multiple reasons.

-We already have Asik on the roster (rim defense)
    -Harden is younger
-Dwight has been injured for the previous 2 seasons (back + shoulder)
-Dwight is paid a lot more

As to how likely it is that Morey trades Dwight, it's highly unlikely unless it's part of a megatrade (would have to involve trading for another Superstar player) and/or Dwight decides he doesn't want to be in Houston.

Either way, don't hold your breath. Neither of them are going anywhere unless they want to leave.

Yeah, NOR does this, why? They already have a glut of guards - Gordon, Jrue, Evans. At this moment in time, Davis is a better player than Harden and Howard.

How many years has it been since the Rockets have had two healthy superstars on their roster at the same time? Now fans after 7 games are talking about TRADING them even hypothetically????

I will say this.... As much as folks criticize Laker fans or Spurs fans you make yourselves look just as dumb even bringing this up.

No Morey would not trade either star player for anyone not named Lebron, or Durant.

All Morey has at this point is two star players, a few trade pieces, draft picks, some young undeveloped talent, and some vet min role players. It's going to take time for Morey to actually build a team here. He's got the core stars but that's about it. You don't trade away your core at this point just because your short term surrounding cast isn't what it will be in a few months.

Harden needs to stay he just play within a system how Martin is doing with aldeman in minny, I know people don't want to hear it but Martin is playing better basketball more efficient check the stats, he doesn't play good defense but at least gives more effort on it then harden.

Howard I would get rid of that $22mill contract in a heartbeat.

U trade Lin you lose 30% of season ticket holders and entry of fans that buy tickets...

I would do Howard for Anderson

Gives you $16mill in cap room, start sail at center and we go back to our run & gun with a better 3 point shooter than ppat, Morris etc

We will just get in playoffs (no ship) with our roster now, that team will make playoffs also but will be less of a headache and funner to watch

Kneejerk thread, and trading him just won't happen for a lot of reasons.

But I can't help but wonder how a Howard for Love trade would turn out, the way Love is playing right now.
