You missed an old Rockets favorite. Sam Cassell won championship rings in his first and 2nd year with the Rockets. Then, he was traded away with several players to Phoenix, which led to a long history of playoff failures.

The answer is clear now - we must trade Greene now before he ruins the chemistry.

He is a career 40 PPG scorer so he can land some serious deph - we should package him with Head to Utah for Boozer, Williams & picks

Lol, yobod is getting creamed here.

But, IF Greene is this good when it counts, why would you trade McGrady for Billups/Prince and have Greene replace him? Then we'll all be back to clamoring for a third star alongside Greene and Yao. Because let's face it, neither Billups nor Prince are on the same level as Tmac. Even more so at Billups' advanced age.

3 stars is better than 2. Especially when one of them is on a rookie contract. IF he pans out, of course.

It seems every year everyone gets super excited about a rookie tearing it up in the summer league. In fact it goes back farther then that. Remember dan langhi? or who was that kid from valparisio who hit that 3 pter and we picked him??? I am sure he'd have ripped it up to.

Sorry, i don't mean to be a spoil sport, i'm just jaded by the past i suppose.

Can't wait, if he drops 20 or more we'll be trading Mcgrady for Billups and Prince tomorrow. ;)

Damn you guys are mean. Everyone dreams about their team doing the impossible. Let a guy dream. My best friend is a nets fan and we always used to joke that the best team would be a Nets/Rockets hybrid with Kidd, Carter, McGrady, Jefferson and Yao... that obviously wouldn't happen, but it was fun to think about.

As to the Greene hypothetical, I'm going to interpret it like this: Not that Greene will score 40 points a game, but maybe he's a legit 20 points per game guy in his rookie season like a Kevin Durant (who he's been compared to) or a young Rashard Lewis. With that in mind:

It obviously would be great for the Rockets, but it would pose some problems. Greene isn't quick enough to play the 2, and definitely isn't strong enough to play the 4, which means he would have to eat into Battier's minutes. Given his strength and rookie tendencies, he won't be that great of a defender, and definitely nowhere near Battier's level. So what do we do? Trade Battier? Let them platoon at the position? Try to play Greene at SG anyway? For my money, we would move Battier around, play him at the 2 or 4 depending on matchups, but start at the 3, with Greene coming off the bench as a scorer. We wouldn't trade T-Mac away or make any big deals apart from trading Bobby Jackson and Francis for a veteran to put us over the top. We go all in this year and next year, seeing if Greene's sped up development is enough to take us all the way. Depending on how we do, we retool in 2010 accordingly. Obviously, t-mac becomes expendable if Greene becomes a high volume scorer. Given that Greene will still be on his rookie contract, we could afford to sign a big free agent or medium sized ones without breaking the bank,

And that, my friends, is my hypothetical.

OMG.. dude.. Prince is not a SG... if we do trade Tmac for Billups and Prince, we need to find someone who's willing to trade their SG for battier, head, and novak.. perhaps someone like michael redd, jason richardson, or ben gordon

If Greene is really this good (which I doubt), then you let him get his 30 minutes at the swing position playing alongside both Battier and McGrady. When he is in with Battier, Battier simply moves to the 2 defensively and offensively Greene is playing a McGrady like role. Better yet, with McGrady and Rafer taking a break, you've got Barry and Greene making plays and Battier standing in the corner for the kick out. Greene can get his 30 minutes in at the swing position without effecting either McGrady or Battier. That is, if he is really that good.

I am guilty but in my defense. It is more than just not knowing the difference. I can't type so I always have to look at the keyboard to see what I am typing. I never look at the screen until I have finished. At that point I may do a quick check but mostly I just send it. I find that I type words twice or leave out words quite often. And of course my misspellings (is that correct?) or also sprinkled in. I've never used the preview. Perhaps that is lazy but I never thought of using it until right now. I guess I could try it...

Okay that is actually not to bad. But this is a short post. The longer my posts, the more typos.
