HA, it's vey likely to turn out that he's not as prolific as you may think. I watched 2 min highlight of the game. The intensity level they were playin was even less than NCAA. And Greene barely showed any energy level that leaves any impression. well, that being said, he did show some level of on-court talent with his passing and shooting. But if this is all he's got, I tell you I'm not very optimistic.

Add Billups and Prince? So we can make our team even older and even slower?

If he shoots 50% from the field with 0 turn overs every game then I automatically assume that he is starting. Which is what the entire thread is about.

One thing that makes me angry about people on this thread is that they think because your name has "Rookie" underneath it and the forum keeps track of how many posts you have made that those two things are a direct coorelation to your age and basketball/rockets I.Q. It couldn't be further from the truth. I have been an avid rockets fan for 14 years practically bleeding all the colors the rockets have sported while boring the crap out my parents when I was younger and now my wife with my passion for the team/sport. (Sadly)

I know this league and its players like the back of my hand but am I going to get respect on this board? Nope. Some punk, loud mouthed kid (or ignorant adult) who has been on here for 2 or 3 years and has posted 2,000 comments is going to think he knows everything and can just bad mouth those who newly sign on or who he doesn't know or recognize.

Daryl Morey could join this blog tomorrow and make a comment someone wouldn't like and they would chew him up and spit him out over the fact that it is his 1st or 2nd post, insulting him for his lack of intelligence and knowledge on all things basketball. Some of the people on here absolutely blow my mind with their inability to think beyond the tips of their noses. The members of this board should have a little more respect for each other and realize that the amount of tenure here has ABSOLUTELY NO RELEVANCE to the competence or education of the person speaking.

I understand you realize that Greene becoming a scoring machine as a rookie is unlikely, but if it did happen, the entire board would be ecstatic, one of the best drafts ever.

Yes i feel the same exact way, I'm not going to be a member b.c i got banned for 2wks for saying f@g. I'm one of the biggest fans you'll ever see and your right, but there are some fans of other teams that register and don't know anything so i understand the "Rookie" steriotype pretty well.

Are you sure you didn't get banned because your fantastic spelling and grammar was making everyone else look bad by comparison?

    ESL.....

and Rokman, if you want respect just keep posting intelligently and thoughtfully. Most rookies post are usually skip over by people when they're reading, I admit I do it too, when I was lurking and sometimes now. Bottom line is, if you want respect, you have to earn it.

Haha kinda like how Aaron Brooks had 9 fouls (which is still just a WOW to me) and 6 TOs. He's done. lmao

I will say this and I'm not saying it because of 1 sl game, if he show progress, I would like to see 10 mins behind tracy and 15mins behind shane. We know what barry is and he could get 5mins from from tracy, 5 from shane to keep him injury free for the playoffs. The rox need to get greene up to speed quickly for the playoffs. Its not far fetched to get a guy that low and pay dividends like Finley, Parker, and prince to name a few. Mobley was productive as a starter in 98 as a 2nd rd pick.

I don't despise rookies. I do despise stupid trade posts and pointless hypothesis. Although I am starting to find this one amusing.

Just use your brain when posting and don't talk about trading Rafer and Battier for Lebron.

In 2006 summer league basketball game.
Fans thought Steve Novak will be next Larry Bird.

In 2007 summer league basketball game.
Fans thought Aaron Brooks will be next Steve Nash.

In 2008 summer league basketball game.
Fans thought Donte Greene will be next T- Mac.

Who do we gonna get next summer? Next Olajuwon?

Why is it that people complain about grammar and spelling on a simple post on a fan based basketball site? Your not going to get something I'll spend more than 2 minutes on...if you are so focused on that go be an english teacher

I am not a betting man but I wouldn't be shocked if Mac is still healthy that he tests the water and then resigns with the Rockets at a more reasonable price, especially if our play is that of a serious contender.
Although early to make a reasonable judgement I would imagine that Greene would become a much better player than Battier on an up tempo Rockets Team. :p
