    What a brutal board.

I ask, why would someone make up such a story, and pick MN? And really, what difference does it make one way of another?

Let's suppose you're telling the truth.

Dallas has 56 million in committed salary in 2007/2008 to a number of players, most notably, around 18 mill to Michael Finley and 16 mill to Dirk Nowitzki, plus 9 mill to Dampier.

Minnesota has 38 million in committed salary to 3 players- Kevin Garnett, Wally Sczerbiak, and Trenton Hassell.

New York has 36 million committed to Stephon Marbury, Jamal Crawford, and Kurt Thomas.

The uncertainty in the CBA makes projections rather hard, but I am very confident there will be some sort of salary cap, and it probably won't be drastically different from the current structure. Assume it expands to somewhere around 55 million- which based on the last few years, would actually be an overexaggeration. Under the current rules, that would allow Yao a maximum contract of 13.75 million.

Dallas is already capped out, and they won't be giving Dirk, and we won't be taking their garbage. That would leave Minnesota 4.25 million to fill out 11 roster slots. New York would have 6.25 mill to fill out those same 11 roster slots.

not to be argumentative, but i think JVG will have worn out his welcome in houston well before Yao... I mean beyond basketball itself - Yao still brings a whole lot of attention to the city. Plus i still feel he's a good free agent attractor - there are good players who would likely want to come join Yao just for the opportunity to join a good big man.

as far as "worn out his welcome with his teammates" - again I feel that JVG has more to worry about than Yao. I think if you look at ex-players (SF, Cat, JJ) they all have much harsher words for JVG than Yao. And you can compare that to players who left during Rudy's tenure - they for the most part left saying how much they enjoyed Rudy...

I can believe gww's story. I've played online card game, upgrade, myself. I usually play at basecity though. The man has no reason to make up such a story.

However, it's at best a guess that the person is actually Yao MIng. Second, he asked him which team he likes most in NBA. Not that which team he may consider to join. So, all these cap room crap is irrelevant, one way or the other.

Some people on this board are RUDE.

Almost all his teammates are new. Yao is the one who should do the welcome, or not.

Yao has no future in the current rox team, on the other hand, Rox might be better without yao. What a wonderful world!:)

Sorry ,reply yor guys so late. I have to bring my kits to hospital.

1.I have not said anything that Yao ming like to be lakers. So anyone think I am a lakers fan should check his/her eye first.

2.I said I played computer game with a guy whose ID is noah ark and leafs in chinagames.com, and for a few reason I beleieve he is yao MIng and the guy is a MN and knick's fan. So I guess IF he were traded, those two teams is his favorite choice. MAVS is based on their close reationship with CNT. That's all.

3.why I believe the guy is Yao ming?
    a.Someone told me so.
b.IP track matched up with yao ming's travel routine.
c, The guy's screen name implys his name. noah ark can be interpet as save life and leafs represent his gf name.

    4. I never ask if he is yao ming . and the guy doesnot know I have check where his IP came from either.

I'm a Laker fan (well, used to be before Kobe took over the team) and even I can tell you confidently that the Lakers are not a good fit for Yao. Kobe is a ego-driven little b**** who likes to play a run-and-gun style of basketball. You think he is willing to share his team with a person more popular than him who is suited for the half-court game?

Clippers? Please. Anyone who suggest that Yao go to the Clippers cannot possibly be an Yao fan.
