They are saying he lied on his form but funny they aren’t explaining what he apparently lied about. The only thing I see is section 11 where he marked yes that he is purchasing the gun for himself. They are saying it’s a lie because his sister in law threw the gun away. Oookaayy..... My take of the situation is that at the time Hunter was in a dark place and addicted to drugs like a lot of America. His sister in law who cares about him found out he had it and thought he might shoot him self so intervened and tried to get rid of the gun. She didn’t get rid of it in a responsible manner but in the moment I can see how you just don’t know what to do with it and the hope might be that in a landfill it’ll never be found, and maybe she didn’t want her kids to find it and hurt themselves or whatever. Either way if she saved someone’s life potentially then she probably did the right thing. Also if Hunter commits suicide and Biden probably doesn’t run, Bernie is the likely nominee against Trump and who knows what happens politically but that’s just the politics of this. The human aspect is almost every family in America has someone that loses their way for a period of time. The difference is how family and friends intervene and help their love ones dig out of that hole. The only takeaway I get is while Hunter is kind of a mess and the prodigal son... that family as a whole is very strong, and seem like very good people. In the end this all just humanizes Joe Biden and his family even more. Classic American family trials and tribulations but ultimately a lot of love for each other that in the end holds it all together etc etc.

More non-surprises for a non-member of the Whitehouse. Let's make sure we don't give him a security clearance, ahem, and make sure we don't vote for him in the future. Billy Carter level controversies.
Turley https://jonathanturley.org/2021/04/...-most-beautiful-thing-may-be-media-collusion/ excerpt: In the end, it is not the possible crime by Biden but the demonstrable collusion by the media that is more of the story from these interviews. *** To get the revolver back, Biden answered “no” on the firearms transaction record that asked whether he was an “unlawful user of, or addicted to” a narcotic drug or any other controlled substance. Lying on that federal form can lead to prosecution under several provisions. The United States code makes it a crime punishable by up to 10 years in prison to “make any false or fictitious oral or written statement” to obtain firearms. Although prosecutions are rare, the commission of a possible felony by the son of a president is presumably news, especially when that president is voicing the need to tighten and enforce our gun control laws. Yet none of this matters when you are in the business of shaping rather than reporting news. Even a leading journalism professor with Stanford University has declared that journalism now needs to “free itself from this notion of objectivity to develop a sense of social justice.” Once free from notions of fairness or objectivity, reporters are at liberty to ignore news in favor of a narrative. Things can be true but misleading. As Lester Holt said in receiving the Edward R. Murrow Award for Lifetime Achievement in Journalism, giving “two sides equal weight and merit does not reflect” today’s world — a gravity-free media world in which allegations of gun offenses, influence-peddling and other abuses hold little weight. more at the link
tldr: fake news media is fake. I’m sure they’ll get around to asking some tough questions, like “What’s your favorite ice cream Joe? Are you eating ice cream again now that Lent is over?”
Yep. This is utterly fantastic. Mandatory drug tests to purchase a gun. Let's see how the NRA convinces folks that's a great idea.
Republicans still have not passed tighter gun restrictions. How many days have they wasted in the wake of this report about Hunter Biden’s gun? When will they take action to ensure no future Democrat family member can get away with such a heinous act?
Turley https://jonathanturley.org/2021/05/08/new-hunter-biden-disclosures/ excerpt: There is a legitimate question of why a company closely connected to the Chinese government and possible Chinese intelligence would be giving millions to Hunter and his uncle. Hunter’s laptop shows that he transferred about $1.4 million of funds from his company Owasco to his uncle’s consulting firm between 2017 and 2018. Hunter and Joe Biden’s brother Jim partnered with CEFC in 2017 but the enterprise collapsed the following year when Ho was arrested and later convicted of bribery in a US federal prosecution. The continued lack of interest in those connections by most of the media is astonishing and part of a continued blackout of virtually any scandals and possible crimes connected to Hunter. I feel the same way about the continued investigation of Rudy Giuliani’s efforts in the Ukraine. There is a legitimate media interest in whether laws were broken or whether Trump associates lied about these efforts. My problem is that the media has overwhelming and continuing interest in one (Giuliani) and little interest in the other (Biden). Both raise serious questions that should be fully investigated and disclosed for the public. more at the link
Oh, God. I keep hoping they'll shoot the horse behind the barn and you ask someone to take it out for a gallop.
Well what’s new is completely serious legal mind Jonathan Turley blogged about a suspicious transaction that Rudy Giuliani says happened on an apparent hard drive he says he got from a blind computer repair guy who says he got from Hunter Biden himself. Important to note that the only completely serious “news” outlet that has apparently been given this hard drive is the remarkably credible NY Post. So take ALL of their word for it... Hunter Biden transferred money to someone at some point ... and that COULD HAVE been the biggest scandal of our lives. Oh and did I mention Jonathan Turley??... yeah Jonathan Turley said something and we should really take it seriously now.
Keeps showing that republicans have so little to say and even less to criticize President Biden with that they continue to throw whatever stuff against the wall about his son and pray something sticks. Even more laughable after four years of enablement of the previous president, family and friends.
I find it (not surprising but again) disingenuous for Turley to suggest a largely unaffiliated son of one POTUS warrants equal media attention with a top legal advisor and spokesperson for another POTUS. We should admit the apple / orange of their official capacities and influence. the substance and sourcing of evidence also appears remarkably different.
