I started it? Well, both Hybl and Griffin deserve it. But Griffin is shorter, so I changed it to him. Sure sounds like starting it to me
Come on Manny, he obviously wasn't thinking that Griffin was a shorter name than Hybl. You'd know that if you just thought about it, but your posting only 1 minute after mduke shows that you didn't take the time to. Mduke, I guess the dumbass wasn't called for though... Go Sooners!!!
Wow, I thought I was being sarcastic.......and on a sidenote pointing out that that had just as much merit as some people saying Simms for Heisman.
IMO Hybl and Simms are interchangeable. Put Simms on OU, the Sooners still win. It's the system, not the players. As long as Mr. February reels in recruiting championships, he will not need to beat OU.
Mduke, right now I don't think we're all that welcome around here (wow, never though I'd say that about cc.net). Maybe its time to go out and celebrate with friends or something.
I'm not much of a college football fan, but I watched most of the Sooners and Longhorn game today. I've never seen a more pathetic quarterback then Simms. The Sooner guy was almost just as bad, but Simms freakin sucks. Who the hell made this loser a starting quarterback. I would not even trade Quincy Carter for that fool.
I accept your apology. You didn't hurt my feelings, duke, but you disappointed me with that remark. However, I have been a little hard on you, but as you can see in that other thread, you have really gotten under the skin of other people here. That is all I was trying to get at with you. I hate to see someone I like get pretty much driven off the board. Just savor your win and chill out for awhile. I plan on doing the same.
The fact that there is a fight over mduke's signature is dumber than Devestata. I thought it was impossible, but it's happened. mduke- How do you not think Hybl sucks? I cheered for OU in this game, because I hate how UT fans ignore that Simms and Mack aren't up to snuff, and still talk s#it. Now, I wonder why/how you can't deny that Hybl sucks. As an OU fan, you should be the first to recognize Hybl sucks. I'm not saying OU sucks, it's just Hybl who does.
Well, by your comment, and your sudden arrogance, it definitely comes off as if you were trying to say he was worth a $hit. I can't imagine how better of a team OU would be with a real QB. Special teams and defense were ridiculously great today, and the reason why OU won, despite Hybl's best Simms impression.
which comment? The one about him having just as good of a shot at the Heisman as Simms? It just amazes me sometimes when people hype Chris for Heisman and say Hybl sucks, yet the #s are comparable, with Hybl having the edge (this was before today though...)
Don't get me wrong, I think/know Simms sucks. But that wasn't the point of my thread. As I was cheering for OU to win, I found myself realizing how crappy Hybl was. I thought he wouldn't do that badly, as he had 0 INTs before the game, but during the game, he had no idea what a free safety or a MLB was. He stared down his WRs, like he was staring at a topless Tara Reid.
They're both equally bad. Hybl is better in the aspect he was not named the # 1 HS recruit. Hybl plays for a better coach in a better system.
And Simms has more weapons. OU's system is nothing special. What's so great about running the same draw play 30 times in a row?
Nate Hybl better than Chris Simms, I will politely disagree. Simms is not as bad as everyone in the world seems to think. I'm not making excuses for the guy but..... Watch saturday's game over again. Chris started well but as soon as it 14-3 Greg Davis goes into his let's telegraph every play mode and forget that we have 3 game breakers at receiver. He literally took the game out of Simms hands in the 2nd quarter. Kidrock, Mack isn't the problem. Davis is. If I were Dodds, our AD, I tell Brown either Davis gets demoted or he has to go, immediately. If we had a good OC, we would've ended this game in the 2nd or 3rd quarter, instead we went conservative and kept giving OU great field position based on 3 and out, 3 and out, and so on. Is OU a good team? Heck yes. Is Stoops a great gameplanner, hell yes. But if we had an Offensive Coordinator worth anything, we would not struggle vs Stoops. As far as our confidence goes, it's because we are one of the best athletic and educational universities in the country, and we are not going to root against our school. Against ANYONE. Plus, it's no fun being a fan if you don't believe in your team or are able to get a little trash talking war going. And the Red River rivalry means a lot, if you can't get into heated arguments over it, why are you a fan. Also, it would be a lot easier to be gracious to OU if Stoops didn't have Steve Superioritis when it comes to talking to the media, and if we didn't have a team with this kind of talent. Most UT fans are very knowledgeable and kind towards other teams. Heck, I had a story I had to produce and I interviewed OU fans after the game for it, and got into some nice, courteous conversations as well. They remember the dog days and expect the series to flip-flop soon. Almost all of our trash talking is a front we use to get hyped up before big games, and plus it is part of being a fan. How do I feel right now: It is a very disconcerting feeling you were beaten by a less talented team because your offensive coordinator refuses to use the weapons at his disposal. Give OU credit. But you will not get me to stop believing Davis is the problem and Simms is just the easy target/scapegoat for the media and the fans, although I can understand why. The KSU game is huge: if we win it we can get right back in the NC race, if we lose it could be one long year. I think it will be a tough, hard fought game, but one we will win. In fact, I was scared of this game before OU. My final thought: Don't judge UT fans by what you read on a message board: most of us are very nice and knowledgeable about football, and sports overall, such as myself. Also, Davis has to go, this offense is ridiculous for the amount of talent we have. Lastly, Mack does not need to leave, and we as UT fans/supporters need to remember he has us back in the NC mix every year, and it took a legendary coach in Bowden a long, long time to win his first National title along with understanding that running the table in the Big 12 is tied with the SEC as the most toughest thing to do in CFB today with parity.
Someone should start a thread about Lance Berkmen's dad. there is no bigger ass than him. That's just my opinion, of course.
