If they're too lazy to drive out to a redbox and pay $1 for the dvd, what makes you think they're gonna go out and buy a crappy bootleg?
I got Hurt Locker and two other movies for $5 at the same quality, subtitles, scene selection, nice looking menu, and all the other crap. DVD din't freeze or anything. And isn't red box rental?
Redbox is rental, but considering how much most posters in here disliked the movie, I wouldn't think they'd want a permanent copy. But my bigger point was that the #1 argument here for DL-ing over redbox seems to be the convenience, and buying a bootleg DVD doesn't seem to be any more convenient than redbox when compared to downloading the movie online.
Yeah, I guess downloading online is more convienent but couldn't one order it on Netflix and then watch it on their computer? Isn't there another site like that as well?
oh, I think the "inconvenience" argument is kinda pathetic, so no disagreement from me here. I wasn't sticking up for DL-ing, just saying how bootleg DVDs wouldn't really fly when people are already pooh-poohing redbox. Not to get on too much of a tangent, but I think Blockbuster really served a purpose and it sucks that all the ones I used to go to have closed down.
You can buy used movies at some of them. When I rented Angels & Demons, the DVD came out like normal, but the Redbox said there was an error and my DVD could not be dispersed. It was awesome. A free copy of what at the time was a new movie.
