Yea, but going to Redbox is such a hassle. With Netflix you have to wait a couple of days to get the film. So much faster and easier downloading it. I like going to the actual movies as an experience, but sometimes its really much easier to download. If there was a legit Redbox download site for $1- I would certainly use it.
It depends on how realistic the movie is trying to portray itself. I would get hell annoyed if a movie was portraying my profession without any reverence towards reality and still try to consider itself a serious movie. And this is a specifically important issue that deals with a sector of our society that we hold dear to us as Americans, yet there is so much misinformation about them. Did you read the article? If you did and you still support watching this movie and calling it a great movie, then you and I just see things differently.
He's saying that every series war movie/cop movie hell even medical drama suffers from the same problems.
I see your point, especially since the "realism" was supposed to be one of the selling points of the movie, but anyone that expects Hollywood to accurately portray anything is being rather naive. I look at movies primarily as entertainment -- not as a source of information. the Law and Order and CSI series present themselves as serious cop/lawyer dramas, but as any cop, lawyer, or forensic scientist can tell you, those shows are far from accurate. Still, they get made that way because a realistic show about a lawyer or CSI crime lab guy would be boring as hell. Perhaps war movies should be held to a higher standard because we do hold the armed forces in such esteem, but to me the bottom line is...it's entertainment. and I was entertained by the Hurt Locker.
Ex-wife has the better one up when she beat ex-husband for the Best Picture and Best Director. MILFy type of ass I would think plus the lawsuit is from the producers, not the director
In the business where I work where we offer digital documents to people, I can definitely see how people want everything on the cheap now. And offer plenty justifications why they shouldnt have to pay the price they pay. We're getting more and more calls like that. Its NOT just movies and music. Its EVERYTHING DIGITAL. People just want everything dumped into the flowing virtual internet canal and use their ladle to scoop up whatever contents they need. Small companies get ****ted on too, its not just big corporations. The big corporations dont just go after the consumers. They'll throw their weight around and have all their affiliated vendors and clients try to accept less, so the big corps dont lose out. And if you upset them by taking a stand, they'll dump you and you lose business, and will have to lay off or close down. You always give an exception to p*rn though. Cuz you cant have that, like, showing up in your account and stuff. No p*rn trails...
Well, that producer might as well sit on the couch and watch "The Hurt Locker" him/her self, I've never ever downloaded one off the internet if it didn't get nominated in the Academy Award.
+1 I would pay 1 dollar per download if it was fast. It would have to be playable on all of my devices though. Make it expire somehow and able to do all of these things and you are rich.
Yeah, so what happen to the people who pirated but also bought it afterward? People who pirated aren't going to see the movie anyway so what's the big deal? Usually people who pirated the movie usually if they like it will buy them. If they going to treat people like this then I suggest if you go watch the movie and hated it, you should get our refund back.
There are other crappy movies that are being pirated that makes a boat load of money. i.e. Transformers/Ironman. It's a shame that the producers don't understand the American public's taste then, blame the lack of monetary success on piracy.
and when my IP changes because I am on a DHCP or someone jumped on my wireless network? How can they prove that it was that person who did it? lame
I think all ISPs have DHCP logs that they retain for security purposes for up to a couple years that track who had what modem IP address along with the date and time.
Your ISP should know when you had that specific IP. As for the wireless issue- that's your responsibility to secure.
agreed..a lame attempt at publicity...i call BS on 5000 people actually downloading this ghey movie..
I looked over the list and the hits are basically from a month after the Oscars. From April up to Mid May. Oh and whoever DL'd That crappy movie Far Cry you guys should have known better.
that's why you buy the bootleg dvd in cash!!!! It's untraceable and the dvds are usually cheap. For those that did download, you're out of luck till the Pirate Party gets the majority of seats in the EU
