Yeah they are paying the price to get the revenue of the movie up. Cheap advertising with this lawsuit.
The movie wasn't best picture worthy... Don't get me wrong, It was a great movie, but I just don't get what made it the best picture of 2010. It's almost a double standard being pulled here... if you're going to charge the people for downloading their movie, you might as well charge others for other movies downloaded or not let them get charged at all for just this movie.
I really enjoyed The Hurt Locker, although it was a bit stressful to watch. Of course, I paid for it via Time/Warner's pay per view, HD style. Never having taken the time to figure out this movie/music "for free" downloading thingy, I guess I've missed out on all the fun. Right? (although I prefer Left)
Lol at people calling it a mediocre movie...in addition to all the awards it received, it scored a 97% among critics on rottentomatoes and 89% among moviegoers. But hey everyone's entitled to their opinion...in imo, it was one of the most intense war films I've ever seen...up their with the best of them...but I wouldn't necessarily watch it again....not really built for repeat viewings.
God you are an ass. It sucks out it's socially ok to protect physical media distributors and stop ppl who shoplift at the store but the actual content creators? Screw em. The cost of a DVD case and DVD is next to nothing. There is no difference between stealing DVDs from best buy and stealing movies from the Internet.
exactly.."what?! i have to pay a couple of bucks to see it?! that movie blows anyways" sort of like..."what, that chick turned me down for a date?! so what that she is super hot, has a lot of money and has a great personality...she has pointy elbows"
You know, I'm not against downloading, but really, in 2010, between digital content availability to Netflix to iTunes to your video game console to $1 Redbox rentals, if you really depend on downloading that much to watch your movies, you're kinda behind the times. (or really really cheap)
I have friends that serve and don't approve of this movie. So I don't watch it out of respect for them. Then I found out why many don't like it: http://www.newsweek.com/2010/02/23/when-cin-ma-v-rit-isn-t.html
It shows today its all about making money. I mean think about it, I think it was rather over-rated as a movie, it was ok but nothing special. Now how many people that downloaded it would of paid for it if they were unable to get it for free?? I think 5% if they're lucky. Whatever happened to just wanting your work appreciated? Good luck prosecuting people from all over the world, its hard to feel sorry for the music and film industries when they've always fought instead of embracing the internet. At least TV has made the right move, where most shows are now watchable off websites right after they air for free.
