Actually I adhere to an environmentally sound lifestyle because I think it is healthier for the people. I think the smog and crap in the air is unhealthy. I drive a 32 mpg car, recycle here and there, hate big business pollution, and freaking HATE litter so I am not necessarily different from greeny global warming alarmists. In fact I think if they would shift the focus towards human health rather than madre earth I think the response would be better for what we all want - a cleaner earth.
It seems like we will have a new tropical depression forming in the next couple of days. It's an area of low pressure in the mid-atlantic that is strengthening as it approaches the Windward islands. If it does indeed develope and becomes a tropical storm it will be named Chantal. Looking at the latest satelite, it has lost some of its dense thunderstorm activity. We'll see if the thunderstorms above it will start forming again with tomorrow's daytime heating. Link: http://www.weather.com/newscenter/tropical/index.html?from=hurricane_welcome
Agreed. This is my perspective as well. Pretend global warming wasn't an issue and I'd still be every bit as pissed about breathing in a bunch of crap, seeing trash in the streets, not being able to see the stars at night, and watching vehicles and refineries belching out a bunch of crap into the sky. I wish every person/city/government/country/corporation would make an effort to make things look and smell decent, even in regard to something like light pollution. "Houston: Space City, where you can't even see the stars." I always found that funny.
The Bermuda High is moving pretty well east over the next week to 10 days which will allow pretty much anything that forms out in the Atlantic to recurve. We'll see.
Do you think a low pressure center that far south, near the coast of south america, can be effected by the Bermuda high? But there does seem to be alot of dry air ahead of it, with does not help with its formation. I guess all that african dust is truly protecting us from the Cape Verde storms !!! anyway, i was wrong about our next tropical depression. Tropical Depression #3 has already been classified northwest of Bermuda, not the area that I expected.
Probably not, but none of the models develops that storm anyway. There is still pretty good wind shear ahead of it and a lot of dry air. The NEXT one coming off Africa though...that will be one to watch. A couple models are predicting it will be a hurricane before it reaches the Lesser Antillies, but it will be further north than the one now. That's still more than a week out, but it bears watching. I consider between now and September 15 the REAL hurricane season for Texas. Each day that passes after September 15 dramatically diminishes our chances of any kind of tropical storm. In fact, we've only had ONE major storm (Rita) hit us after September 15 and that was during the bizarre 2005 hurricane season.
You weather DORK !!! I can't believe someone is more interested in this stuff than me, but then I read you posts and go......WOW ! Keep it up, I love it ! DD
